8:42 indoors is one thing, but this is crazy. He's going to run in the 8:40s this year, and probably under 8:30 before he leaves h.s.

A 19 yr. old running 9 isn't that big a deal. Please, don't claim he's 15 or 16.
I was at the meet, and Cheserek's barrier skills were abysmal. I'm pretty sure there were only two or three barriers the entire race that he DIDN'T step on. Improving his hurdling from abysmal to mediocre could cut off 5-10 seconds, the weather was probably worth another 5-10 seconds (Cabral ran 8:35 last year and just ran 13:46, so he's probably in 8:45ish shape right now but only managed an 8:54).
His indoor 2mile was head-and-shoulders a superior performance to this steeple, but he definitely has the potential to run an otherworldly steeple.
On a somewhat interesting side note, he was also entered in the 10K and actually checked in but ended up scratching.
He is the age of a H.S. junior just like Lukas.
Let's see his birth certificate. Oh, sorry, he doesn't have one! Cheserek could be 17. Or 18. Or 19. Or 20. Who the hell knows?
Reasons you think he is older than 17:

He's Kenyan. But hey, 17 is as good a guess as any, I guess.
I am going to say this again: No African, or any other non-U.S. high school runner, should be allowed to compete in the U.S. high school circuit until they have become U.S. citizens. Period. The international racing scene has been destroyed by lack of viewership and sponsors because the African runners have come to dominate the sport. The last thing we want is them to come over the U.S. and ruin the chances of real American Americans. Let ht eAfricans stay in their own countries and compete there, not here in the U.S. The future of the sport in the U.S. depends on it. Thoughts?
