i meant runners like cabral have no time for 5k , but most likely will score in that event.

!!!!update after saturdays results.
After re-seeding all the events based on saturday's trials results and assuming the 5K results based on 5K seed times and 3K seedtimes for those with NT.
Going into the final 3 relays the score is predicted to be
186 Princeton
152 Cornell
49 Dartmouth
35 Penn
33 Harvard
22 Columbia
13 Yale
06 Brown
NOW after the first 4 events have been scored (WT, PV, LJ, 3K)
Princeton lost 11 seed points
Cornell gained 8 seed points
Dartmouth even
Penn -1
Columbia +3
Harvard +3
Yale -2
Brown even
SO looking at the top two teams
the cushion for Princeton heading into the final 3 relays (DMR,4x8,4x4)
went from 34 pts down to a 15 pt cushion.
Cornell needs to get that cushion down to under 6 pts to have a chance but in reality probably needs the cushion to about 0 for a chance.
great meet, very competitive and some phenomenal performances all around.
Where'd everybody go?

I think everyone is still waiting for the final scores to be released as many are wondering if the Columbia men's 4 x 800 relay team will be DQd for poor sportsmanship.
That's a joke - sort of.
But seriously where are all of the stuck up snobs that were on here a few years back making fools of themselves by trying to come up with a dishonest argument as to why Jimmy Wyner's DQ for celebrating his 1500 win was the correct call?
They are no where to be seen.
Wyner's DQ was ridiculous and the public's justification of it was even more ridiculous.
Today, one of the Columbia runners ran out onto the track in lane one, before the finish line, before the race was over to congratulate Moriarity on his great anchor leg as the other teams were still battling it out.
If that guy had been Wyner wearing a red C on his chest, the boards would be exploding with BS about how he should be DQd.
The incident today was borderline and I dont think officials should DQ people but the key thing one wants with officiating is consistency.
On a side note, as a fan of the sport, it was great to see the senior, Moriarty, get some redemption.

I think a lot of the people probably aren't on here because I've been told that six of the eight Ivy league ADs scheduled emergency meetings that started at midnight and are still going on. Men's indoor track and field may be canceled at those six schools as reflected by the following stat.
1. Princeton 215
2. Rest of Ivy League Except Cornell 202
3. Cornell 172
So sick!

The Penn guys stormed the track while the 3k was still in progress after Tully upset Hyde in 2005, too. Some of them ran across lane one. And that should be punishable in some way - more so than pumping your fist with 60m left in the race a la Wyner (or with 150 left a la Eamonn Coghlan @ 1983 Worlds) - but who do you punish? The guy who won the race? It's not his fault his teammates did something stupid. What kind of penalty do you dole out? Penalize their team 15 yards or something?
Princeton was 1 sec away from sweeping every oval event
1st 400
1st 500
1st 800
1st 1000
1st 3000
1st 5000
1st DMR
1st 4x4
2nd 4x8
on a side note my prediction for the DMR next week @ notre dame:
with guesses for who is running
2:58 1200 vanackeren/callahan
47.0 400 eddy/hollimon (if hollimon make it 46.0 split)
1:49 800 dinkins
3:58 1600 callahan/amirault
final time DMR 9:32 which would be auto.
These threads are way less interesting when Princeton is running well
Interesting dmr picks, final time looks about right but I think Callahan would have a good bit more than 2:58 in the 1200 and banking on a 3:58 from Amirault might be a bit much though certainly not impossible. I say it goes something like this.
Just as Amirault and Callahan could do something special in the right circumstances on this relay, if Dinkins finds him self in a situation where he's in a pack of dudes going out in 52 seconds like Moriarty did at Heps he could have a whole lot more to give than 1:49.
The possibility of some of these guys doubling to try and pick up an auto-qualifier individually must be considered as well as Dinkins' responsibility to the 4x400 which is also on the NCAA bubble.
Regardless of the specifics it'll be a fun last chance weekend with Hollimon, Dinkins, Callahan, Amirault, Cabral, Moriarty, Slovenski along with Princeton's 4x4 and DMR all having a legitimate chance to make it to the dance.
Also, lets not forget Penn freshman Maalik Reynolds as this is a question of who will be joining him at NCAA's.

We all know that a team would never get Dq'd for an infraction THAT minor. I still have nightmares about the 2005 indoor 3k at harvard where, after being outkicked, I had to wade through the entire penn team to get off the track. I couldnt believe they stormed the track via the final turn while the race was still going on...
NOt sour grapes on my part, though it was tough to take at teh time. I think stuff like that is what makes the heps awesome. But, honestly, when things like that happen and there's no consequence and Jimmy celebrating gets a dq it pisses me off. ANyways, just an old man reminiscing. DAMN YOU TULLY!!!!!!!!
Any one planning on uploading videos from the meet somewhere?
30fps are worth essentially infinite words.
looking at the schedule Princeton's Nationals hopes with projected goal mark to hit auto/make top 14/top 10
FRI
5:00PM WT Pearce (2011 best 19.81m|current 14th place 20.69m)

12:50PM 800 Dinkins (2011 best 1:48.29|current 14th place 1:48.29)

1:40PM MILE Amirault (2011 best 4:01.91|current 14th place 3:59.13)
2:10PM 4x4 (2011 best 3:09.35|current 10th place 3:08.90)
I dont think Dinkins will run the open 800 (be fresh for 4x4)
I think Callahan will run either the open 800 or mile
I think the dmr will be
vanackeren
eddy
dinkins
callahan
last year it was
callahan
eddy
dinkins
vanackeren
vanackeren ran the 1200 at heps he stayed with the pack through 800 then split a 58 for his last 400 running 3:01. This time he will be fresh and he wont sit on 2:03 pace thus running a 2:55-2:59 range.
what event do we think Moriarty will run?
Silly to predict DMR times. Totally depends on the race and the tactics of each leg.
If anyone knows the relay splits from heps could they send them out? In particular what did Amirault split at the end of the dmr? How about the Chenoweth and that kid from Yale? Moriarty in the 4x8? Dinkins and the Penn kid in the 4x8? what about Kate Grace? There were quite a few strong performances in the last half hour of the meet but without videos its hard to tell just how strong.
Cabral ran a 4:00 mile last year. Would be interesting to see him anchor Princeton's DMR.
van deventer (yale) split a 4:02 in the anchor leg of the DMR. Pretty good for runnign 10 miles a week for the past 6 months.
Grace split 2:03
on the princeton side
4x800
Sawadogo 1:52
Soloff 1:54
Callahan 1:53
Dinkins 1:50
give or take 0.1-0.4
DMR
VanAckeren 3:01
Schnure 50
Stillin 1:54
Amirault 4:02
give or take 0.1-0.4
(Morarity split 1:48 to pass Dinkins in the 4x8)

Grace ran pretty even - Van Deventer opened with a 27 first 200.
Here's another comparison of 2009 v. 2011 in the Middle Distances. I've changed the comparison to #8 marks rather than #10 because some of the '09 #10 marks wouldn't make the top 20 this year.
Event//#8 time in 2011//#8 time in 2009//Where the '09 #8 would rank this year.
800: 1:51.59 // 1:52.75 // 15th
1000: 2:25.64 // 2:26.91 // 18th
Mile: 4:07.88 // 4:09.97 // 18th
3000: 8:10.08 // 8:16.20 // 17th
