Dude, your advice went out the window the second you suggested wearing spandex or split leg shorts the bar.
Really? The ONLY way this is EVER acceptable is if you are at a hash house harrier event.

Actually he is right. Pulled off the short shorts move before and sometimes its a fail (like at a place where everyone is pretentious) but most of the time its a money move. The confidence is what pulls it off, and any chick who is cool enough to dig that kind of humor and fun freewheeling way to act, is the type of girl you want to be around anyways. Just realize that there will be a large amount of mma guys looking to get in a fight with you because they haaaaaate when skinny guys get all the attention from girls who they have spent all their gym time and money trying to impress.
No, I'm not going to allow this advice to pass. Wearing short shorts to the bar never, ever works.
That's my female perspective anyway.
Unless your going to The VIP in Georgetown or some other "Studio 7" type club with 7 floors of music you will pull it off. And of course this advice doesn't apply to picking up other runners.
If you get moted by some pretentious girl do the responsible things for the human population and walk away and every time you see a dude walk up to her walk over to the dude and pull him to the side and tell him you know the girl and she has VD -- Nash equilibrium -- we don't want girls like that reproducing.

nah, trying to show off your chest looks dumb.
Your chest shouldn't show if the collared shirt or T shirts neck isn't too deep. Notice I said the under shirt should have the v neck, not the over shirt.

THank you for your perspective. Your perspective is very beneficial to myself, guys like stuckwithmatch.com, and of course 95% of the male dominated letsrun community. :)
wanna go out? :)
Girls like a man that looks well put together, like he took the time to make himself look good. Don't over compensate, girls can sniff that out before you even notice them. Plus, you'll look ridiculous. Have you even thought about how bad of an idea it would be to wear a hoody in a club? sweat your dick off.
I'm pretty tall/skinny (not as skinny as I was in high school obvi) and one of my best friend who I almost always go out with is the complete opposite...kind of shorty but very built. I never really have trouble hooking up with girls, you would think they would go for the more built guy. But from my experience girls wanna hook up with a guy that looks well put together and has confidence.
Nothing spells "I have zero confidence" like over compensating for your body type...It doesn't work for girls and it definitely won't work for you.
My advice: Wear some fitted jeans (Levi 511s) and a fitted V-neck (surprisingly girls love these despite my lack of muscles) or collard/button up. Can't go wrong with some basic shoes like vans or converse. If you got a nice watch that can help to, I always get compliments on mine.
...and remember, CONFIDENCE goes a long way with girls, they'll eat it up all night (among other things haha).
Yes it does work, and your perspective is lame, how to be a man 101's perspective on the other hand is superb. What the crap has happened to men in this country? Never take advice from women on how to pick up women because the majority of the time they are lying to themselves and to you.
It's true, I wear my shorts out all the time. Chicks love it

Best advice I ever got; don't ask girls for advice on how to get girls. Ask guys who get girls how to get girls.
I had an attractive female roommate who used to give me advice on how to be more attractive to women. Nothing she recommended worked. I started hanging out with her emotionally abusive (and frankly, not that good looking) boyfriend and started asking him for advice. I'll never take advice from anyone but guys who do well ever again.
Vans and Converse are good, but safe. If you have the money for a nice pair of leather casual shoes from a good brand, do that. Johnston and Murphy, Ecco, Allen Edmonds, etc. These are brands that do both dress and casual, and women can spot quality shoes like a hawk spots mice. Get something not too dressy, that you can walk a little ways in if needed, or even dance in if that's your bag.
1. Clubs are artificial places. You're better off after a race when people are relaxed--and just about everyone's wearing shorts. Also many of the women you'll meet there will be lean and won't go for the hulky guys. (Frankly, I prefer runners--more likely to stay in shape longer, not lose interest and sit around watching tv.)
2. My take: it's all about how you come across. If you are trying too hard or acting desperate, it will show, regardless of what you wear. Another reason why clubs tend not to be good "meet markets": They're hyped up and pressured affairs. Go to places where you'll have fun regardless of whether you meet someone and where the focus isn't on picking up a woman. You'll be yourself at your happiest, and that's a turn-on.

i like this advice but if it causes people to end up with their arms across their chests, that could be just as bad (if not worse) as the in-the-pockets. you end up looking uncomfortable, like you don't want to be there... combined with the shoulder hunch, the shifting of weight, the self-conscious glances around, it makes for a really awkward demeanor.
god knows i've done this before.
Hold up, let me get this straight ... you guys are actually recommending for a man to wear spandex running tights or split leg shorts to a dance club?
Wow, try that in any big city and you won't get in the door - I'll guarantee you that much. I've seen people get turned down for wearing a hat, t-shirt, or sneakers. We aren't talking about Vegas clubs either, I'm talking about standard middle sized city clubs.
Please, for my enjoyment, every man that thinks it's okay to wear short shorts or tights to the club try it this weekend. Post back pictures of the bouncer laughing his ass off at you.
Its not that swag that makes the swagger. Just be comfortable in what you wear and be confident in who you are.

As a skinny distance runner, how can i dress to make up for being skinny when going out, say, clubbing? Should I wear, for example, a baggy hooded sweatshirt?
Be skinny and proud. You will blend in with the druggies who look like you and everyone will think you are extremely cool.
Two words: Goth Club90% of the guys are scrawny and the women tend to have low self esteem (even the hot ones). All you need is a pair of combat boots and dress all in black and you're money.

You aren't allowed to go to clubs.
Honestly, this is it. I am done. I cannot read this message board any longer. We are through. For good this time. Are you people serious?
Holy balls, this is awful.
You know what? Screw all of you.
