Johhny,
I say that I'm not surprised by Huddle's 14:51 because I've been expecting sub 15:00 for some time. She was a phenom in high school coached by her MD, runner father because she did not have a high school girls track team. He probably knew something about over training and having a long outlook. While she had a very good freshman year she did seem to plateau with occasional brilliant performances. The 31:24 10K (or something like that) was one of them. She ran a killer 3000 last year. Maybe the plateau was the result of longer outlook. Injuries also hampered her. I saw her run in high school - up close. She is incredibly focused and assertive on the track. I've been telling running friends about her for years. I think that she's the real deal. Question now is she a sub-14:40 runner. I think she's got the AR in her. My sense is she's a better 10,000m runner. We'll find out.
