Probably wants to race himself back into form....from a recovery point of view he only needs to race europeans in a few weeks time so not bad to get some fast paced races under your belt...

race himself back into form... I want Cragg to succeed but question his preparations, remember this is a guy who ran a 5km road race as a race prep for Euro XC(12km none the less)
as far as prep for Euro's, you don't see Mo Farah doing 3 races in four days
Granted - Although Cross has never been his strong point or his focus.
Not sure why he chose to run the so many times in such a short period but my guess he was not 100% sure he would run at europeans and now has decided to run and needs to get into race shape..
He initially said he was going to do the 10km at europeans but he has probably come to the conclusion that the 5km is still his best bet...
He was probably at some point thinking of a move onto the roads (New York Half)
I guess unless you ask him or his coach we will not understand his motivations but I am sure he has thought it through...
Just to make a point Cragg has a far better success rate at major championships than farah if you compare them directly..

like to see that comparison, correct me if I am wrong but Farah has been ahead of Cragg in the last few years a major races
obviously he and his coach have thought it through but doesn't seem like the optimum prep for a championship
I'm surprised with Bumbalough as well. He went 7:53 what, two years ago? He also ran 3:38 a year ago, and yet, after improving in cross country and closing well against Chelanga in two consecutive races, as well as finishing a strong third in USAs, he's gone across the water to produce the same blah results he's produced the last three years. Is there any sort of break out on the horizon? Does he need some new coaching? Will he sign with a new coach? Shouldn't he be running 3:35-3:37, 7:4x, and 13:2x at this point?
Also, why do people keep saying things like, "disappointing result from Barnicle"? When was the last time he did anything remotely close to not disappointing? His senior year of high school? Seriously, the guy hasn't done anything in college.
Pretty good race from Bauhs, especially considering the 1.5 second gap to Bumbi and his dismal recent racing performances.
Pretty good race from Matusak and about where I expected.
Barnicle ran 13:36 and 28:10 this year and he's done nothing????
Barnicle ran 13:42 4 days before this 8:01. He was probably a little tired and rigged a bit today.

Bauhs had a really good race, especially taking into consideration he really went for it the first 2k. With 500 to go, he was still right next to Cragg who finished in 7:44. He definitely has a shot at a sub 7:50.
race video!!

bauhs goes out in 4:05-6
does bumbi have a sponsor?
who pays for these kids to go to europe?
typical race, all the kenyans to the front, all the white guys to the back.

I don't think so yet.
He ran 13:30 and 3:38 last year, good cross season, then lost the winter training to mono. Recovered and closed well in the NCAA and USATF 5Ks, but I thought he'd run 3:36 and/or 7:45 in these European races. Don't know if he'll get in a 5K before going back to the states.

At least Cragg and Bauhs went to the front too!
