What if he broke the law? Would i then be permitted to have an opinion on him? Gee, there's all kinds of people in prison who have done no harm to me, so i guess I shouldn't judge them, right?
I think the ad sucks. Tiger is not the victim here.
I agree with you, no one can say what he did was good. It was awful. And yes, you can hold an opinion. All I'm saying is shut the f*** up and don't talk about it every f***ing day! It's getting really old to only hear about Tiger.
Maybe you should direct your hate at Nike. They are the ones who ran the ad and aren't particularly interested in not talking about it. I was just sitting at home watching a baseball game on TV and Nike popped up and started talking about it - right in my face! Can you believe that?
Nike was almost begging me to talk about it. Maybe I shouldn't have indulged them. Maybe you shouldn't have indulged my post.

I'm sick of you bitches whining about Tiger. Your point is not valid. He didnt cheat on you, he didnt betray you. He doesnt f uckin know you.
The Bare Facts
I have also seen the ad in no way does it paint Tiger as the victim, I think it is a good ad it is somber, thoughtful and inquisitive in its tone and manner... A tone appropriate for the emergence of someone who was often looked at as infallible reemerging as a deeply flawed individual but still probably the best in the world at what he is paid to do.
I simply don't give a damn, and I don't understand the media circus around the whole deal. You mean a billionaire celebrity who has women throwing themselves at him all the time had SEX with some of them?
Oh, the horror! None of us would EVER do that. Tiger must have some sexual addiction! That's the only possible way to explain why a rich, powerful celebrity would want to have sexual relations with more than one woman!
A guy who was good at golf banged some skanks. So? I still got work tonight, still got some intervals to do tomorrow, still plan on watching a little of the Masters and maybe napping.
As for Nike, I'm not surprised nor do I care that they used a dead guy's voice for profit.
You're a sap that you fall for ads so easily.
Wow, Nat. Do you always get so upset at anonymous posters on message boards?

Maybe 'victim' is too strong. But I think it portrays him as a guy everyone can sympathize with. A normal guy who just made a mistake. A mistake any of us could make. We're all human, after all.
OK. On one level, this is true. We are all human, and we are all imperfect. It is the decent human thing to do to forgive others for their failings. I'm with this.
But, if your father behaved that way and hurt your mother (and you), you would never look at him the same way. You may forgive him eventually, but it would never be the same. While Tiger is not related to any of us, Nike is trying to portray him in the most sympathetic possible way because they want us to go back, and quickly, to viewing him the way we used to. Nike understands the psychology of advertising very well. I don't fault Nike for trying to do this. I just think the way they're trying to do this is in poor taste and somewhat disrespects some of the real victims here.
Do you know what Elin thought of the ad? Shut up.
Tiger will cheat again. How can he go from getting 15-20+ as*es in any freaky way that he wanted, to just one? He cannot.
The other thing here is Nike's need to humanize the behavior as being relatively normal human failure that could happen to anyone. That's a good tactic - but is it true?
If you were a famous athlete with a wife and kids you love, would you be a serial cheater, cheating even when your wife is pregnant and having those kids? Could anyone do that?
Tiger's defenders want you to believe that you could. We're all just a couple steps away from being that guy. But are we?
I'm sorry, but I just don't believe anybody is capable of that behavior. I don't believe it. Human beings are moral actors. They make decisions. No one makes the right decision every time. But, some people make more wrong decisions than others.
In the ad, we hear Earl asking "Have you learned something?" This is a question you might ask a child who stole a candy bar from a store, who perhaps was not mature enough to fully comprehend that whatever they were doing was wrong. They succumbed to peer pressure, perhaps, and made a bad choice that they realize only fully in hindsight. We've all been there.
But can this really explain Tiger's behavior. He took an oath to be faithful to his wife. He is an adult, not a child. Was it really somewhat unclear to him that he was behaving badly, that he was making the wrong decisions? That he can now only see in hindsight was wrong? Really?
Just some things to think about.
"In the ad, we hear Earl asking 'Have you learned something?'"
Yes, pimpin' ain't easy.
Congress can make you care. They can also make you pay a "Tigercare" tax if you refuse.

I am totally fed up with all the down-low letsrun posters and their obsession with who Tiger is f ucking. IT'S NOT YOUR BUSINESS WHERE HE PUTS HIS D ICK!!!!! What dont you understand about that. For you to say you feel "cheated" and "betrayed" is beyond stupid. He has no obligation to you. His only obligation is to his wife and family and if they are going to stick with him, why the f uck do you care?
Another thing that pisses me off is I would bet anything that the majority of people who are so outraged have CHEATED before. Its a fact, most people cheat. It reminds me of the bible quoting, family values, anti-gay rights republican who gets caught in a public bathroom with a d ick in his mouth. Shut the f uck up and mind your own business!!
"That this is a very good ad, and very well timed I might add. Currently pursuing my MBA in marketing and all I can say, hats off to Nike.

This comment from the article pretty much sums up my thoughts. It's not offensive, it is a positive message meant to portray that not everyone is perfect, and we must be responsible for our own actions, and that Nike still supports Tiger.
Half of Americans cheat on each other, it's nothing new, and NOBODY is perfect.
Forgive and forget, learn the lesson, and MOVE ON WITH LIFE.
We don't have enough time to dwell on the past. All that matters is right now.

And "right now" Nike is trying to get $ out of your pocket by selling you an image. Eat it up if you want.
Nat, you need to chill out a little. Do you throw clubs and drop a bunch of F-bombs on the course too?
Man, I sure do like running.
Nat, I agree that he has no obligation to me. However, I have the choice to boycott the products/companies he peddles. That we can agree with, yes.
