First of all,
great performance for Tadese. I think he is one of the greatest "half-marathon runners".
But his perfomance is also a signal, that he will not be ready in London.
He is on the top of his form, but we are 5 weeks away from London.
Its a big different if you run a halfmarathon or a Marathon.
Tadese is not ready for the full Distance and this is Ok.
Look at the perfomance behind Tadese in Lisbon.
Duncan Kibet and Jauad Gharib. There both running around 60:30. And that is a perfect sign for London.
Right now there in full Marathon training and they wanted to test there bodys and see how the training is going.
In London both of them will be ready, because they are not train for the halfmarathon, they train for London!
Its a loaded field in London this Year and beside Wanjirus poor perfomance at the beginning of this Year he is a Challenger and will be also be ready for London.
Lets see what happens in April and one is for sure it will be a big big Race.
cheers
Brojos;
Duncan Kibet is not washed up....he ran 60.00.22 in the run up to london ......i reckon that is fine.Gharib ran 60.00.30.Kibet has not run more than 5 marathons.Last year he put too much effort into rotterdam but not as much effort and focus into Berlin. He will be fine.Kibet usually does very well when he is under the radar i.e when the spot light is not on him.

I agree Tadese is out London at least for this year-the same way James Kwambai boxed himself out of NYC marathon last year. In fact he might not start. As for Wanjiru, I hope he gets back. Since running Chicago last year, he seemed less fluid and appeared to struggle unlike in London in April last year. He looks bigger too. In the half marathon in New Orleans, he appeared vulnerable, almost getting nipped by Shadrack Biwott for second while Martin Lel finished some 26 seconds ahead of him.
Wanjiru will run 2.01-2.02 based on my gait analysis.

You may very well be right, but then again the conventional wisdom said that trying to run 2:06 in a summer Olympic is suicidal.....
Checking out the Salazar video on the right, is it me or does he and Tadese have the same stride mechanics?

Well said. Tadesse has a hematocrit of 43
The Iaaf article says that Sammy Kitwara ran a PB of 59:47 to finish second. Why they get their facts wrong. Kitwara ran 58:58 last year in Rotterdam which is his true PB. Someone not doing their job well...
i was thinking the same thing....maybe rotterdam is an aided course?

I'm kind of surprised that this isn't getting the headline on the frontpage. Maybe employee #1 know whether or not a feature article is going to be written on this soon with split breakdown and performance comparisons to Wanjiru's WR and others. To me, it seems like their giving Tadesse a cold shoulder but maybe I'm just jumping the gun.
I didn't want to start a separate thread on this in case people thought I was weird. I thought it would be strange to have it as a new thread. I literally saw the film Tsotsi. Have any one else here seen it. The main character reminded me of Tadese. He looks like him. Did anyone else think that?

That's a bunch of nonsense.
However, I like reading these old threads. On the first page someone posted this:
Nice run for Ribeiro, now age 40.
Fernanda Ribeiro (Portugal), 1.12.17
Since then we've had Geb run a 61 and Lagat run a 62 at age 40+. Makes that 1:12 look absolutely pedestrian.
Oh course you would think it's nonsense. Have you literally watched the film? I don't know why but sometimes my shoulders get tired watching Tadese run. How does he go so fast keeping them so high. When I'm running I've been told lots to relax my shoulders. I wonder how fast Tadese could go if he done the same.

You "literally" saw it? How do you figuratively see a movie?

Oh Please is here, but also at work, and as such cannot read and reply non-stop. Yes, I made a mistake. Should have read a little closer.
