Perfect. Song, dance, karate. Has super bowl written all over it.
With the way the Super Bowl halftime show has been trending, look for a big announcement soon.
It's going to be Kansas.
Forget having a band. Here are some great ideas
-How about some frisbee dogs? Those are always a good show.
-Or maybe a joust. That would be fun to watch.
-Robot wars. You know, where guys build these RC killing machines that have buzz saws on them and all kinds of sweet weapons and then they go at it.
-Someone mentioned RC plane dog fights. That sounds cool.
-The conclusion to some sort of competition that has been biulding up to a final. Like the punt pass and kick competition. Have the finalists go for the win at halftime.
-Usain Bolt vs Chris Johnson 100m dash. As long the Titans don't make the Super Bowl, this would be good entertainment.
-Have a big marathon finish in the arena. It would have to be an elite field only so the timing could be pretty well predicted. Maybe even the olypic trials marathon could finish at halftime.
I would rather see these or any number of other things over a medley from some music artist.
Def Leppard!
Bring back 'Up with People' !
When I saw them at Super Bowl XIV, I was so inspired that I ran twelve red lights in their honor....
JOUST! yes. a joust is unreal. i watch them as often as i can at renaissance faires... that would be epic!

All of the above... forget the football game!*
Oh and add that "tough guy" race mentioned on the LR home page today.
* okay, seriously, I'm glad NO won... good morale booster for the city... otherwise no dog in this hunt.

Don't we have some American talent worthy of this big gig?
Kings of Leon, any of a dozen country stars - male & female, come to mind off the top of my head.
Kings of Leon ftw
Although the jousting idea from another post is great, too
I thought the remaining memebers of THE WHO did a great job! Next year I'd like to see the remaining members of the GRATEFUL DEAD with a life size, moving, lazer prism of Jerry Garcia on stage. Then the year after that the remaining members of the BEATLES could play. And then the year after that . . .

Jeri is a Jedi: I thought the remaining memebers of THE WHO did a great job! ... Niccolò Paganini and Jimi Hendrix?
How about they bring out the winning team from the Puppy Bowl and honor their achievements at half-time?
3D will be the new mainstream...so 3D laser art...with way more than just straight lines...distribute the glasses to prime the hype...JOE SATRIANI: SURFING WITH THE ALIEN...with 3D art lacing through the stage. The Who's visual art show was good (the music sucked, i missed Entwisle)...so, use the added excitment through visuals...just get a rocking band, let the lasers do the marching...no words, no class limited statements (like janet jackson's tit)...just art...space art...and a little showmanship, Satriani's got it!
Sorry, I'd like to change that answer to:
... a Troggs cover band comprised of genetic-engineered Neanderthals?
second both those parts!
NONE.

Slayer and Lamb of God are excellent choices, I'm glad you guys like real music unlike everything ever played at a Super Bowl halftime show. I would go with Killswitch Engage for my show, though I'd agree with the Lamb of God suggestion if a mosh pit was included with real moshers. No one has as violent a mosh pit as Lamb Of God, that would set the tone for a Super Bowl second half!
Salandro, Lamb of God is coming to BANGKOK on April 7th! Please try to come out and join us!
Since it's their first show in Thailand and first show on the Asian tour, we are going to attempt to find out their arrival flight information and meet them at Bangkok airport to deliver them some Thai "herbs" as well some 666 Energy Drink shirts.
I saw Lamb of God for the first time in October 2006 at the Loud Park Fest in Japan (you can see footage of it on the Walk With Me In Hell video) and I was instantly hooked on the band and their music.
I am a Killswitch Engage fan too....excellent choice but since the Super Bowl is in Dallas next year, I think that we are going to be S*** OUTTA LUCK.
