He was 14 seconds off the back of Ritz because Ritz ran a great race. I don't think Rupp's time in that race was too bad either.
I don't know why everyone has to bash the elites on here. None of the pros are in top form this time of year so a 3:56 indoors is pretty good. Can anyone on here run a 3:56 when they aren't in top shape? Let me know if you can.
OK, I'll let you know. I can do maybe a 6:10 mile when I am not in top shape. I'm probably the slowest runner on LR but I imagine there are a few others who have a hard time breaking 5:00.
And bashing Rupp, Fernandez... Yeah, I agree with you 100%. It is really ridiculous. My guess is that 90%+ of the LRC community also agree with you. Those who think that it is cool to knock a 3:56 miler (or worse, an injured kid) are either trolls trying to get a reaction or just plain vanilla morons.
My advice to you (and all real running fans) is to just ignore them. They may not go away. But at least they will have to get much more clever to get any reaction (and that in itself could raise the entertainment value of these boards).
Cheers.
