I am neither a France backer nor out of my mind. From what I've seen (some youtube video that hadn't been pulled yet) that was behind Henry, All I saw was a ball played in, take a hop and hit him in the hand. Clearly it kept the ball from heading across the touchline. Clearly it put the ball in a position for him to make the cross. What I don't get is how this makes us out of our minds? I saw the play (from one angle, so I am not claiming whether he did it intentionally or not - as I stated earlier) and my take is we can't make a determination on the whether it was intentional or not. What we can say is it was clearly a hand ball and was missed by the referees. So where a few other illegal tackles, hand touches, over-the-backs, holding, etc. throughout the game. I understand the importance of the play, I am not taking away from the fact that it was a handball, but all this calling for Henry's head or for France's resignation is a little over -the-top, a little dramatic. Yes, it was an extremely important play of an extremely important game, but it was not Henry's fault and to be honest it is tough to call conspiracy on this one. Conspiracy would be more appropriate if a penalty was given to France at some point - a wee bit easier to control than waiting for a time to "let something slide on purpose".
