Except perfect racing conditions on the track are a bit different that by yourself, half-off-the-track in a workout.
I have no doubt that Ritz can approach 45:00 for ten miles on the road, under good conditions, in a competitice race. I do have significant doubt that he did so in practice.
(I also think he is going to challenge Hall's AR at the HM championships -- though I doubt he places in the top 3).
