Clearly, the difficulty of many course depends on the instructor. Quantum Mechanics as well as Electrodynamics were much harder in my opinion, but it is problably not as mainstream to take physics courses other than the intro ones.

The most I ever studied for a Ochem test was 2 hours the night before. Ochem1 was harder for me than Ochem2, basically just because of the first test. Once we got to mechanisms I really didn't need to study. I think I got the highest grade in the whole class on the 3rd test. I had a 107 on it. My class size was close to 300 I think. The class average was normally 60s. I just did the assigned work and I just reviewed the problems. I never had to memorize it, it just clicked. Worst class was Calc3 freshman year, I thought it was highschool and never did my math hw. I got a 60 on the first test. After that I did my hw and got an A. Histology was the worst class I ever took. Now THAT is memorizing.
piece of cake - just pushing electrons around to obvious places with curly arrows. Phys chem is hard - all that completely made up entropy stuff - obviously devised by someone with an acid habit

what's harder, college calculus, physics, or o-chem ?
My soph year at college, I was actually taking all three at once.
It all depends on what you want to go into. Are you planning on going to medical school? if so, organic is just a hoop (one of many) that you have to jump through to get there. beyond that, there is very very little orgo based stuff in med school or even on the MCAT. the biggest thing for med school is biochem. people always talk about orgo being so hard, but you dont really hear much about biochem....but it is more challenging and more applicable for the medical field. but, basic orgo concepts need to be learned before you can do biochem.
Organic chemistry is not difficult. It may have been the most enjoyable science class I took in undergrad, besides genetics-oriented courses. Much easier than p. chem.
LoL at all these people, you'd be singing a different tune if you actually went to a legitimate university where Orgo was actually difficult

A matter of perspective. I enjoyed p.chem better; didn't have to do all that memorizing.
Ochem required no more than 2 nights worth of studying for solid B's, the final though was a week long prep to push me into the A range, which didn't work in 1 but did in 2. I also got a thrill out of competing with my study partners for the highest grade.
cis thread is full of trans.. sexuals
Orgo is NOT that hard. Quantum Mechanics, upper level math and EE IS Hard. In undergrad you have all the time in the world to learn material that requires only a "sharp" IQ to get an A. My guess is that many people on this thread are prospective med students. Any course you NEED to get into medical school is not that difficult. It's the one's that you are not required to take that make you stand out. One of my interviewers for med school had a PHD in pchem. He told me during the interview that he was very interested in seeing undergrads taking difficult classes to show they were not afraid of challenges. I happened to have taken many non grade-friendly pre-med classes such as physical chemistry and a russian existentialism in literature seminar, getting mostly A's in them. It worked out well for me. CHALLENGE yourself. It will get you ready for the days when you have to learn about cardiology in 5 weeks (HAHA!).
ORGO IS DEATH!
Wow. That is very cool. Seriously. I know I challenged myself in college and I felt like I was all alone but compared to you I took it easy. I am seriously impressed. You are definitely the type of person I would want as my doctor.
