I think Antunes already has a good job.
it's just a question of crossing the t's and dotting the i's and Matt C is the coach.
Centro is a great, proven coach but IF he is hired at UVA he'll have to change his ways and I do not think the man will. He is who he is and that's the way it will be. The language and yelling that is his way of coaching will not fly at UVA. The parents and athletes will never put up with it. Just my .02
If Centro is indeed hired by UVA, I'd love to see the look on Kevin T-Shirt's face when the news comes out!
Is there anything substantial regarding Torpey looking at one of the big jobs (UVA/Iona)? It would explain Witzleben leaving Temple after only a year if the boss was considering leaving and wanted to get the heir apparent back in the fold.
it's funny that the two leading candidates mentioned , Vig and Centro, seem to be on opposite ends of the spectrum personality-wise.
I agree with the poster who said that Centro's coaching style would not go over well with the UVA team, especially the girls - what a nightmare that would be...
Vig seems like a much better fit
Brad Hunt..... Period.....
Brad was made to be an assistant only.
From a source -- Littlepage has been in contact with four people so far:
Vig -- he is interested, but not at the money they are offering. He is pushing for more $$ before he agrees to come out.
Chapman -- AD called him, and he said no thanks, but wants him to come to C-ville to interview. Supposedly, he is considering it.
J. Henner -- benefits of a female hire
Whittlsey -- likes what he has done with the women, sees the lack of results with men more the results of choice in how they spend money.
Felix Moreno has the job in the bag.
This discussion seems to presume that the distance coach is going to be the head track coach as well. UVA has had a pretty balanced program. I wouldn't be surprised to see them hire a speed/power type guy for the head track position and let that person have a significant say in who becomes the distance coach.
The Oregon Ducks or Colorado Buffaloes are all that matters.

They're looking for a head coach, not a relays coach.
dear "GOD",
a big piece of your info is incorrect
Whittlesey will be hired for this position. Wait and see when the press release comes out.

jesus. what has he done besides coach 4 of the most talented females in recent memory (flanagan, donahue, schmidt, felnagle) to destined success?
the murmurs on the board have proven to be true lately; seems like whittlesey to uva is what everyone is saying this time around..

From what I have heard, I actually think Centro's coaching style might be a positive, needed change for the girls. You don't always need to be best friends with your coach.
Whittlesey would be a horrible fit for UVa. Whittlesey, if you are reading this don't take the job. You have had zero success coaching men. How do you think the guys at UVa will look at you? Do you honestly think they will respect you? The won't. Probably not one guy on the UVa top-7 has ever lost to someone you coached. UNC Men's XC is pretty much the laughing stock of ACC Cross Country; and now you want to coach the defending champs? Please.
