can someone translate Igoli's terms into times. Assume the person's pr in the mile is 4 minutes
What pace per 400 does Easy, Fresh, Good and Hard translate into?
This thread has a lot of great info, so just chiming in with the little I know of Igloi methods. A key principle was that the coach timed the intervals, but never told the athletes the times. This helped the athletes to focus on their form ("good swing") and their cadence ("good speed") rather than the specific times. With the volume of interval work they did, the times were probably slower than we might think. Slow times could have undermined athlete confidence, so no information was given to the athletes.
Thus, we have no idea what times the terms correspond to, as the athletes did everything by feel. This runs contrary to the hyperquantification that athletes are currently accustomed to, but it seemed to be a very effective way to train.
