I've just heard about this thread and just wanted to say a few things.
Whoever said I'm injury prone doesnt have a clue what there on about,my injury at the moment(tendonitus) is the only injury i've had thats running related, the only other injury i've had was 2 yr's ago when I tore my ligaments. In between these I've had little niggles like everyone else but most of them have been through fault of my own due to me messing about and they only required a few days off before i'd be back running again.
My track times which you've been looking at are basically from the summer of 2006,which half way through the season in July,(our season runs from late april to end of August)I tore my ligaments so my season was over.Last year after coming back from Kenya I couldnt stay healthy and would come down with an illness of some sort as soon as i'd train for about 2 weeks so nothin moved on as I weren't trainin consitently. So your right in thinking there not that good,I dont think they are either and after coming into shape after xmas I was hoping for a huge summer, and I truly believe I would of smashed every single p.b I had and by a fair bit as this is the first year i've put the work in,but everyone can say this and its about what you actually do and not about what you think you can do.You lot can sit here and say I wont hit the times people have run to win the ncaa's,and i'm not about to say I would cos i'm not like that, but I dont like being told what I can/can't do especially when the person saying it doesn't have a clue who I am.
I chose Providence as I liked the coach and the team there,I want to run 1500's for a year or so to improve on that and with the group there its ideal as Hayden and David Mccarthy are good lads.My mileage maybe a little lower than the others but there's not much difference and i'm looking to increase this anyway, although i'm going to do it steadily.
Whats the big problem as well if you have foreigners coming over on scholarships??surely its good for the sport as it makes things more competitive,I mean you have the best athleties competing against each other from a number of countries instead of just one.
