It looks a thumbs up.... or am i already too late with that one.... anyway, I laughed... nice job.
i just assumed it was a snail. or an upside down willy.

Here's a quick logoish thing. It's funnier if you recognize who it is...oh and it's to scale too! (joints at least)
Pretty close to scale, but I had to make a few adjustments.
http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb76/trg86/webbLR.jpgWhat does the new Letsrun logo supposed to be? The London logo spelled out 2012. I cant make out anything with the Letsrun logo.

The free redesign actually looks pretty sweet. Some of the font colors are a little light, so they might be hard to see for some people. But other than that, it looks really good.
i agree. the redesign looks better organized, and it's appealing to young folks.
the logo does look like a snail, or a thumbs up sign.
The LetsRun.com "Snail logo" is actually a metaphorical invitation to my website.
amatuerlogos, great job!Wejo, I think amatuer also deserves a free tee.

This is obviously a rough idea- if anyone is good at logo making feel free to improve on it-
I did not realize that it spelled out "2012" either, while my wife saw it right away... her training says it's because my mind thinks in the three-dimensional while her's picks up the linear... anyway, it made me like the London logo moreso. Plus, I think people are bs-ing about seizures in seeing the logo in motion... tested this on my mother-in law (epileptic) and no seizure (whew!).
One observation about that guy's blog: the Olympic Logo is one of the MOST RECOGNIZED logos in the industry (5 Rings representing 5 Regions). He was thinking individual Olympics, whereas the "Olympics" themselves have a logo that is branded and marketed through time.
Logo? Threw this together, maybe it'll add some fuel to the Letsrun logo creation fire.
This is a running site, not a disc golf site.
that 'disc' appears to be the exact same shape as the current letsrun 'disc', just the fact that it isn't flat and pixelated makes it a disc? open your eyes
Webb with the lets run jersey is classic!
dude it's a track, not a disc. at least that's what i see on that logo...racing lanes wrapping around the oval. i like that it is similar to the old logo, but properly shaded, etc. My only suggestion is that you pull the racing lanes down to the front edge of the oval so they can be seen under the LetsRun text, otherwise it's lost behind and just yellow space beneath.to be honest, the old letsrun logo is quite a joke. it's 2007 and anyone could make that in MSPaint in .2 seconds. if wejo wants to be taken more seriously, even by his sponsors, it would serve him well to modify and modernize his site.people who say stupid stuff refusing change---are you still watching b&w TV?

Then how do you explain this?

Taking the London logo, if you look at the first "0" and the small block below (off the second "2") you'll see something resembling Australia + Tasmania. Just an observation. I tried to see if there was some resemblance of other pieces to Great Britain or London, but its pretty shite. The worst is that the two 2s don't even match...which is just way to abstract for an Olympic logo.
About my comment on the recent 'disc' logo with the tracks...I whipped up a little gem here, but preserved the original blue/red text. I took the disc idea but placed red lanes over the yellow oval.
Actually wejo, if you'd like something different for your old logo "for real" and have a few ideas bouncing around your head i can put something together for you (for free). How about an animated logo...something flash perhaps?

I thought I should give it a try too.
Alright you had to go and steal my idea, but what's that old saying. Imitation is the greatest form of flattery. Anyways, I took the advice and moved around the track a little bit. I think a animated logo on the site as is, would seem a little gaudy seeing as that'd be the equivalent of a 80 year old woman throwing on some lingerie. Maybe if you hop out of that old frame and get into something a little more appealing, it'd be appropriate but until then, I think a simple logo update would be a good idea to get the ball rolling.
That's pretty good. I'm sure many will be impressed by the "advanced" shading/3D effect. It still looks like a frisbee though. Maybe you could add track markings and lane numbers or change the color of the track part. Or maybe not have the track part going all the way around.
