hey Luchini finally raced! Isnt this his first race since his USA nationals 5k in 2004? He was sponsered by Nike but looks like he has lost that sponser since!

Thank you for your truly original and cool thoughts. I'm surely glad the letsrun community has you here to tell us these things.

Question:
if a non kicker like Rupp, outkicks Solinsky, who I thought had a bit of a kick, what does this say about 2 of our future hopefuls on the international scene?
Answer: it means they get left in the dust the last 400m of any big race.
hate to be a pessimist, but I'm looking at the big picture and bring some 'reality' to the peeps here, who will be talking Olympic medals for our guys before the year is out.

No, he DNF'd in a 5k earlier in the year, and i belive he ran a 3k indoors.

Sorry to get your blood pressure up Mrr82, I forgot how seriously you take everything here and on Dyestat. You simply made the ignorant statement that his winning this race was irrelevant. It's NOT irrelevant that Rupp beat the defending champ.
You obviously don't understand Mrr82's point. Rupp is one of our best runners, sometimes people win, sometimes they lose. It doesn't make it their best race ever just because they won which was what he was responding to. In that regard his win here is irrelevant, he wasn't saying him winning in general is irrelevant. Putting this 5k over his other races just because he beat Solinsky who is not god, is injustice at best.

Still with Nike
OTC is Oregon Track Club Nikes club up there.
When did Asmerom lose his deal? Wasnt he still with Nike just recently?
To whoever wanted to know...
The last 1200 was 3.03.
Rupp split 60point 60point 62.
Rupps move down the straight coming into 1200 to go was sensational, dropped the pace from 65 to 60 in a flash.
Should break 28 next week at Stanford.
Mario Macias is suppose to be running the Cardinal 10k next weekend as well, as I'm sure a handful of great runners will be, so hopefully they will go for sub 28 pace. I could see Macias(28:02), Goucher(27:59), Rupp(28:15), and McDougal(?) all going sub 28:00. Well, actually maybe not Goucher- not at this time of the season- later I know Goucher probably could, but Macias, McDougal, and Rupp should deffinately use one another to give it a go.
Anyone know what that thing is around Rupp's Upper Leg? I hope Rupp all the best, but that is not a good sign if he is wearing some kind of a wrap to race in this early in the season, and this early in his career.
He raced with it all indoors.
Many Man, can you post the link somewhere in this thread/message board so that we can watch the race? It sounds awesome. Thanks.
Keep on rockin the free world.
Great site. So many useful info.
