"I think what Wejo's doing is a tad on the slow side"
It's worth remembering that Wejo's steady running is all done at an average altitude of 7000ft.
There, the high altitude is a much more relevant stressor than daily running pace, so it's much less significant that Wejo is running 7-8mins per mile than the fact he is running at 7000ft all the time.
Also, Wejo has not been running well recently (Dnf at World XC Trials, 24mins+ for 8k on the road, DNF at harry jerome).
But for the 28.06, would people not be saying his training is all wrong, too slow, etc etc?
Instead, now Wejo had a great race, everyone is now saying slow jogging is the way to go.
Or is Wejo just a legendary talent who would race a good 10k whatever his predominant steady run speeds?
Which perspective is more likely true?
