Also, something that people haven't seem to noticed or brought up that emphasizes the difficulty of frontrunning is what happened to Komen. Yes, he was in the outside of lane two. But bro is a 3:28 runner for sure (from Monaco) and fell off the pace only like 800 into the race. For Ingebrigtsen to believe that he could front run the way he did was simply stupid.
More than 3 second PB after three rounds- 'clean', 'slipstream', 'he was 3.27 all along!'. Let's be glad Cole isn't from any other country, or a woman.
Calling this sketchy is peak letsrun brainrot lmao didn't know Jakob fans were as delusional as him
Hocker has looked strong and been running 3:30 looking comfortable. It's not some conspiracy that in the biggest race of his life he found an extra gear. Especially in a race that catered to him cuz of Jakob's dog water tactics

This is easy. The next guys are focused on winning hardware and Jakob thinks he's so good that he just needs to time trial his way into GOATdom. While he sits there admiring himself, those guys have been working their fkn a$$es off and mentally preparing for this day. They visualize, they self assess and they work on their weaknesses. Jakob is so arrogant that he even refuses to learn the hard way. And the most glaring part that I've been screaming at you fools every day:
Paced DL meets that don't matter are not the same as tactical championship finals. Repeat this to yourselves enough to commit it to memory because apparently you all can't grasp it.
It would be like what everyone was screaming about last month, about letting Mu in over Whittaker. Sports are fun precisely because sometimes they turn out like this, where the on-paper numbers get overturned on the day.
I still remember a lot of comments for the past few weeks saying stuff like "Hocker isn't a 3:28 guy because he never did it" "he can't do it until he has done it" "you can't say he can run 3:28 just because he closed a 3:30 in 52"...blah blah blah, when people were speculating he's already in 3:28 shape. Well, they're all wrong. because COLE MF HOCKERr IS IN 3:27 SHAPE!

people laughed at the idea that Jakob had less room for improvement despite still being so young because he was training like a professional since a teenager but its proving to be true so far. At this rate he should move up to the marathon by 27. Hocker on the hand ran 30 mile weeks in high school and is improving drastically every year. Professional bettors use this type of analysis in their models all the time for other sports (golfers from cold regions when they turn pro and move somewhere warm have more opportunity to improve versus the kid that live in Florida his whole life).
FanDuel putting him at 31:1 after the Semis sure didn’t.
31:1??? If I'd have known that I'd have bet on Hocker. No surprise to me. So far, good analysis on this post.
If Jackob is smart he will give up the 1500m, and focus on 5k. He doesn’t have a kick, so the only way he can win a 1500m race is by dropping everyone else. But since the other runners can easily run 3:27 now, I don’t think there’s anything he can do to win a 1500m race
That little pompous ahole is too arrogant to move on. He's going to run more time trials next year and will keep telling himself he's the king of the 1500. He'll get mowed down again in the next championship 1500.
His femboys are also to blame for blowing endless smoke up his a$$. He needs a continuous dose of reality.

The femboys were saying the same about Kerr. They are blinded by their obsession with the time trial king.

People on these boards have no deductive reasoning ability. The same people also think Jakob is not capable of running 12:40 or better at 5000 because he hasn't chased a fast time in 3 years

ngl, with a more even pacing (certainly not a 54 first lap) and a dedicated pacer as in Monaco, Kerr could probably get into 3:26.9. It's really smart of Hocker to have stayed a little far back or he might not have won tbh.

Tbh I'm surprised that people are so surprised by this. I'm not gonna be a "I knew it!!" guy but Hocker was always a good dark horse bet. He's looked stronger than Nuguse for the last month so it was really just down to Kerr/Ing and Hocker is clearly the type of runner that get's a boost from chasing people down which this race gave him the perfect opportunity to do.
Y'all get way too caught up on past times rather than how an actual race might play out

Well I have admit I'm genuinely surprised as I thought he's a 3:28 guy. 3:27 really didn't cross my tiny little brain and I thought Kerr was gonna take it. I underestimated this lad, big mistake!
