This is 100% in line with my experience with Fox. Relentless harassment and insults, threats against my partner's safety, threats to weaponize his podcast, etc. etc. It's who he is.

Hi, Matt.
Nahhhhh grammatical footprint wrote:
I haven’t dealt with many people with serious mental conditions (like bipolar disorder), but I have dealt with plenty of angry alcoholics. To be honest his rage and lack of reasoning reminds me a lot of the alcoholics with angry tendencies I’ve known, though it’s also possible he wrote these in a completely sober condition.
What’s most shocking to me is MF threatening to post screenshots of the convo, like lol of what? You’re the one being massively racist 😂
Like I'm semi-joking, but maybe he's on gear. Would it shock anyone if this fool was taking testosterone or something worse in his quest to finally break 2:20? You add some of that to an already unstable guy and it might not be a good combo.
Lmao this is so out of left field yet not at the same time. Didn't have this guy pegged as a massive antisemite but I'm not surprised. I really hope Hobbs, Bryce, Craig, etc think again before collaborating with this guy.
Hahahaha, after reading the updated screenshots in the Google docs, I’ve come to realize that Matt relies on chat gpt to avoid exposing himself as a deranged freak
A SUMMARY: This guy has shown himself to be INSANE time and time again. Basically no female U.S. runners wanted to work with him after there was drama in Boulder bc of him having some kind of romantic relationship that went south. A restraining order was involved apparently. He tends to interview and video far more male athletes as a result.
Coach Lee Troup (coaches Jake Reilly, used to coach Laura Thweatt) tweeted that no one should work with him and for the most part American females stayed away.
Then he got involved with U.K.-based Best Athletics (Nick Bester) and started a partnership with him before saying that Bester prevented coaching inquiries from filtering to him and that Bester gives boilerplate plans to all of his athletes (apparently pot calling the kettle black).
He then publicly shared the fact that Bester's best athlete at the time (runfluencer and coach Anya Culling takes thyroid medication) though now she is no longer involved with Best Athletics either and I don't think that situation ended well, coaches with RUNNA now).
Then Fox started a coaching relationship earlier this year with Max Frankel (a Boulder based triathlete) and fired him as his personal coach and as a SweatElite coaching academy coach in like a month.
He also used to host a segment on his podcast where he ranted about people who wronged him for half of each episode last winter.
Oh and he got banned from a race in Japan after wearing a bib with another athlete's name on it but said he didn't check bc it was in Japanese. Japan Running News wrote an article about the lifetime ban and Fox posted an angry response alleging that the author was jealous of another English media site operating in the running space there (he was over there to capture content around the Eikden race which he couldn't even really do bc of television rights restrictions) and Fox threatened legal action (baseless, he's on public streets so his image can be used in the news media plus the story was factual so in addition to being a deranged tool he's also just dumb).
Early on when Kipchoge was becoming more well-known in the marathon scene he published his "training" online as an e-book to make a profit and it was debunked by other coaches (I think even Coach Sang himself?). He also plagiarized a bunch of articles and posted them to his website.
Also iirc SweatElite just was purchased (or maybe is set to be purchased?) very recently by some other larger company so I wonder if this will affect that in any way. I think a new CEO has started already or was slated to begin soon.
I'm sure I'm forgetting a lot of stuff at this point. Sources: this board, SweatElite podcast and videos, Instagram stories from various ppl involved in this mess.
1) I think we need to ask Kofuzi and Eric Floberg (2 big Youtube running influencers who love to associate with Matt Fox) for a statement on this. Kofuzi is very much into the activist space, so I think he needs to come out and denounce this harassment. Someone needs to DM both of them.
2) Is SweatElite a registered US company? If so, someone needs to file a complaint for harassment against SweatElite.
This is out of hand and it's time for accountability and an apology.

You're right about it not technically being antisemitic, but that doesn't really make what he said any better.

Here's the story: Israeli runner Itai Spiegel was being coached by Matt Fox. He ran a 2:05 800 and let Matt know to get some feedback. Matt proceeded to take 50 hours to respond and he used ChatGPT to write a generic congratulatory response, and didn't even say Itais name (it said congratulations Matt!). Itai sends an email back pretty disappointed with the level of support he's getting and asks to cancel. Instead of trying to course correct or apologize or open some dialog, he shoots back a bunch horrible comments (see link). Beatie Deutsch and Alli Felsenthal posted on their stories about this situation to raise awareness of this guy being a complete @$ and he proceeded to fire back with more disgusting comments. As I am typing this out, despite being blocked by Beatie, he is going through his other accounts to continue to threaten and harass her.
I screenshotted the stories since they would disappear:My $0.02: I could never imagine responding to a client this unprofessionally. Anybody that is being "coached" by him or subscribed to his website should seriously consider cancelling.
This is hilarious.
