The classless response Trump had to Biden's stepping down from the campaign was telling. "Crooked Joe Biden ..." Biden has had zero scandals, like the Obama-Biden administration. (His son does not count, because he is not and was not a part of government). Trump has more scandals trying to get Biden than Biden has in his whole career. (Trump was impeached for extorting Ukraine by withholding arms for the battle against Russia, in order to get them to declare they were investigating Biden). As for class, when Trump was shot, Biden condemned the shooting, denounced political violence, and wished him well.
Not crying. Just believe that the Dems need to be held to the same standard they are trying to push on others. They’ve enacted procedural law fare against Kennedy and deserve in kind treatment. What they are doing is not in keeping with the Democratic process.
You are trying to find a gotcha where there is no gotcha and it reeks of desperation.
Interesting that Trump is doing the same. Why isn't he overjoyed at getting Harris as his opponent?
Trump humpers think we give a flying fk about their victimhood.
They will select a candidate at the convention. The Republicans just did the same thing.
Yes, but the candidate selected by the Republican was on the primary ballot and had met the state filing deadline to appear on the ballot. Democrats are in a position where they will be putting forward a candidate that did not appear on the primary ballot and did not meet required filing deadlines at the state level.
The Constitution doesn't say anything about parties or primaries, only about the general election.
If a party's candidate, who hasn't even been nominated yet, decides to drop out for whatever reason, it be absolutely undemocratic to not replace them. Would democracy be served by the other party running unopposed in the election? Of course not.
It is the utmost hypocrisy for the Trump led GOP to say this is undemocratic after their failed self coup attempt. They are the ones who tried to corrupt the process spelled out in the Constitution in an attempt to overturn the 2020 election.
We didn't start using primaries until after WWII. Before that, it was just the convention. Look into things. Instead of crying
That's not the process. The nominee will be decided at the convention by a vote of the delegates. Harris is the frontrunner but she's not automatic because she's the VP candidate.
Oh I get it. I was thinking if Biden resigned as president, then Harris would automagically be the current sitting president. That's not the same thing - I get it.
I love it. The same Trump lovers screaming about the delegate vote process being fair and enshrined in the Constitution are complaining about the unfairness of the delegate process. Get your empty heads in the game for once!

Democrats don't have a candidate until the conference. So no legal problem.
Butthurt Republicans are flummoxed and trying to think of some way avoid a real election because they know they will lose
Lefties are stating this is the most democratic since people voted for the Biden-Harris ticket. I think she sucks like 99% of politicians . You’d think conservatives would like her more since she put people in jail but i suppose being a black lady negates any of that.

I put the odds at 100% that Trump, if he loses , will try to fight this legally and not concede. Poor Donny the Alpha male is always fighting about how the system is rigged agains him.
Dems are about to become the biggest victim of their DEI insanity by nomination Heels Up Harris. They are stuck with her and will lose in November in a landslide, up and down the ballot

If loses he will remain loser king of the idiot party. Can't wait to watch 82 year old ketchup loving convicted felon Trump giving it another go in 2028 lolz.

Joe Biden selflessly gave up his second term to allow a new generation of talented and diverse politicians to govern the country after him. Now he can focus on being the best president ever for the last 6 months of his political career. I marvel at the depths of patriotism, excellence and concern for humanity in the Democratic Party.
Imagine being so partisan and stupid that you think Donald f*cking Trump is a good candidate.
lol...
Fixed it for you.
You're gonna be crying about this all day, aren't you?
I never claimed Trump was a good candidate. That's why I voted against him in both primaries.
You, on the other hand, insisted Biden was perfectly fine for the last 4 years until you woke up one day and the cult told you he wasn't so you turned on him.
lol.
Trump doesn't need to be a "good candidate" he just needs to better than the Democrat candidate. There aren't many people alive who aren't more charismatic and more intelligent than Kamala Harris.

How does a person who has no idea where he is or what day it is make a selfless decision exactly?
to choose their candidate? They’ve known for a long time that Biden boy has dementia. Are they trying to skip democracy?
I don't know for sure as civics/government is not my forte, but I think this is the process. If the incumbent steps down the VP is the candidate. If you want to not have Harris be the candidate, then you have to go through a voting process. I think that's the general way it works.
No. VP has nothing to do with it. Biden hasn't stepped down, he has declined to run fo re-election.
1968 is the instructive year : After LBJ declined to run very early in primary season, VP Hubert Humphrey was selected at the DNC convention without having competed in any primaries. Primaries were contested by Eugene McCarthy and RFK Sr. (who was removed from contention by Sirhan Sirhan).
Riots ensued at the Chicago convention. Might see a repeat next month.
