Warholm ran his WR 3 years ago and had lost his last 3 Diamond League 400h races BEFORE Monaco—he’s now lost 4 straight. SML lowered her WR 2 weeks ago and hasn’t lost a 400h race since 2019.
We just saw the WR holder in the men's 400h lose to the silver medallist.

3000 ft altitude. Little difference from sea level.
Come on man. You know you lying. It's a huge difference from sea level. Or do you think that practically everyone running PBs in their events are suddenly doing so because of some evolutionary jump or perhaps malfunctioning clock.

Excuse me who won Worlds just last year? Idiot.
I was at Worlds last year. Right at the finish line. I didn't see Sydney competing. Did I miss that? I don't recall any bathroom breaks during that event... What did I miss?
Definitely favorable conditions, as others have posted. Nadine Visser and Pia Poland each destroyed their lifetime bests at 100 hurdles in the same meet.
But I'm glad Laurent Meuwly was wise enough to set up this race for Bol. She needed a confidence boost and a race at fast pace. I don't think it was on her schedule until recently. After FBK Games last week she told the Dutch press her only remaining race prior to Paris would be London Diamond League.
The primary benefit of this race is that it shuts up the Sydney fans from abusing the line that Sydney is 2 seconds faster than Bol. They have desperately posted that line everywhere for 2 years. I wish my net worth could be rounded upward like Sydney McLaughlin fans view track and field.
There's also the possibility that this result could scare Bobby Kersee enough that he won't allow Sydney to run the anchor leg of the mixed relay. He has said Sydney would be available for that event. Bol and Klaver have much greater chance at gold in the mixed event than in their individual races. Obviously Klaver is underdog for any medal.
Femke has never been close to Sydney's times before this. Very sus.
Femke has been faster than Sydney in her first year using 15 strides and then again in her first year with 14 strides. She simply started running the 400mh later that's why doesn't hold the WR. It's only a matter of time, get over it

Sydney was never going to run the mixed 4x4. That race is for lesser mortals. Stars only run the proper 4x4. That's why Sydney and Rai always run that event.
Any win is a win and helps to boost confidence. I hope this can be used as such. While I do want Sydney to win and run a sub 50, I do want a competitive race. I found the men's sprints rather boring when Bolt was around and in his prime. It works best for me when there is no clear favourite.
Could have gone either way... based on the previous comment to which you replied. I have copied it here for your benefit.

What's the problem? The conversation was about Warholm which is why he began the sentence as such. You need to read better instead of thinking only the last sentence represents the whole exchange. Read the whole thing instead of jumping in with a smart ass comment which is the only reason you even commented.

This was on a fast track, and Bol was seeking a fast time, but Bol, having run this time under ideal conditions but without much competition, can probably run it again in the Olympics. Her 2021 Olympic time was her PB for a two year stretch in which she raced a lot, and Bol isn't known for choking. Bol's off-year training wasn't focused on peaking for specific meets to the extent that Syds was. In 2022 and 2023, she just ran a lot.
I'm not saying that Bol can or will necessarily win, but the 0.3 differential between their PBs could easily hold in the Olympic finals. I dunno how to load a screenshot on here, but that's less than the difference between 1st place Anna Cockrell and 3rd place Shamier Little at trials - maybe 2 meters - and that's a race.

And he was wrong to boot.
Why you people thrive on ambiguity in your written communication is so strange. No matter. Sydney will win the 400H in Paris in a new WR. I'm good.
