Sound. I too believe this will be the lineup. If they could pass the baton with anywhere near the efficiency of the French, Italian or Japanese, there would be a new American record.
The problem the USA always has is all our guys ran anchor all those years.
Some people are cut out for anchoring and some aren't. I would never trust Coleman on anchor. I believe that even if he had a 15M lead (and this would rarely happen), that he would tie up and lose that lead. Kerley is 50/50 for me. I have never seen Bednarek run an anchor, but in his present form, I believe he would do well.

Any spriner on a USA team was by far the best sprinter around growing up. Good chance they ran anchor on any relay they were on.
That long second leg thing is really where t should be. Hand off early then hand off late using your best sprinter to run a huge % of the race,
Ato Boldon was that UCLA second leg he blew by those 10.4 guys,

i believed that for a long time, but truth be told, the outgoing runner should be using as much of the zone as possible to work up to speed. the handoff should happen within around 5 meters to go in the fly zone. give or take. IF the second leg is getting the baton early, they ARE NOT getting up to speed before getting the baton. that is only acceptable in something like high school where a real stud might be half second to 1.5 seconds faster than the incoming runner.
only time i ever had a kid that much faster than the rest, i put him first leg because i did not want him getting the stick early in the zone from a ridiculously short 3 or 4 step start

I gotta go with my stud on that long second leg. Second stud on anchor. Want my speed on those straights.

Deno, the second leg is NOT getting the baton early. they need to use the entire zone to work up to speed before getting the stick.
