In the boys side? They must have found a 5th man then, which puts them in the top 3 in Division 4. Although it will still be tough to take down JSerra
Don't know who the person is to check for times, but they could easily be a D4 state podium favorite depending on the time.
With proper progression you probably get 2 15:00-15:15 minute guys (Woodward Park 5K), 2 15:45-16 minute guys. If new guy is right around the 2 front runners, that team just straight up beats JSerra and is in contention with St Francis for the state title.
Still have no chance at Woodbridge team podium unless the new guy is running sub 14 Woodbridge times though, so for purposes of this thread, I don't think it means much.
JSerra just picked up a 1:55, 4:13 (relay), 9:25 runner.....that makes four under 4:20 and a 4:23 by a freshman.

Will he be able to run Woodbridge? Or transfer rules prevent him? Also why is Jserra aka the road racing team running bob firman a week after Woodbridge?
Woodbridge prediction - A thousands of kids will put on Vaporflys and run ridiculously fast 3 mile times on rock hard surface and call it cross country. Those same kids won't sniff within a minute of their times for the remainder of the year.
A pristine course of the finest youth soccer pitches in America. Rolled as hard as an asphalt road and the grass trimmed to 10 mm, this 2.9x miles course always produces astounding times by kids that fail to qualify for state, NXN, or Foot Locker later in the year. The perfect "cross country" course for Vaporfly 3.

Go with the aphals 3 to break the national record. The fastest road shoe out there. Rich will taylor the course to 2.93 and call it 3 miles if you're his golden boy.

Have you never watched Woodbridge??
I've watched it multiple times. That's exactly what it is, rock hard artificial surface soccer complex, pedestrian path. It's not a cross country course.

They probably want to travel out of state as much as they can to make their resumes look good for at-large bids in case they get 3rd in the merge at CIF

California teams go up there to lose badly. That race is at altitude and is a real xc course which california teams are just not ready for in the early season. Especially a week after woodbridge.

Doesn't appear sit out period will apply
If he moves (changes residence areas) then he can race varsity right away

The beauty of Woodbridge for my girls is the performance at Woodbridge translates to what they can run for 5000m in the track season. It's been proven out year after year for me.

What... Fail to qualify for state, NXN, or Footlocker...? What are you smoking?
The top 10 girls at Woodbridge in 2023. Notice the Footlocker champ and 2nd and 3rd place athletes for NXN.
The best talent will race fast on any surface. I'm talking about the second-tier kids that score a huge PR on a perfectly groomed course in September and then never come close to that performance when it counts in October/November.
It's pancake flat.
Better manicured than your nails after visiting a Vietnamese salon.
Advertised as three miles, times reported as three miles, actually 2.93 miles.
The optimum set-up to get sucked along in a pack more powerfully than a fully charged Dyson.
A lot of Cali kids and teams get big ideas and delude themselves after a fast night at Woodbridge only to crushed by reality at Mt. SAC, Crystal Springs, and Woodward Park.

They also have another 4:27 1600 incoming junior, and also another incoming junior who ran a 16:38 5k at CIF but did tennis in the spring instead of track.
That makes them 7-deep, so if one person has an off-day it won’t hurt them as much as it would hurt Oaks Christian.
Oaks Christian got a solid 5th runner who transferred in, but all 5 scorers need to be on when it counts, since they don’t have an amazing 6th and 7th to back them up.
