Can we please stop all of this? How do you know Parker didn’t congratulate Graham.
Because people today are under the misguided belief that if it didn't happen on social media, it didn't happen.
That WOULD be a clever take if not for the facts that Parker (a) has been posting every few hours to (gasp) social media showing he was third at the Trials, playing sad music, and implying he had been wronged; (b) is well aware that Blanks is being pilloried all over the very same said social media despite doing nothing wrong; and (c) is allowing that pillorying to happen by saying nothing - actually, “liking” comments saying he was robbed, while leaving up comments critical of Blanks. I’m not saying Parker is a bad guy, I’m just saying his behavior in this instance is - at best - unfortunate.
As for him privately congratulating Blanks, I sure hope not! Doing that while simultaneously encouraging the slamming of him all over social media would be even worse.
I see a single IG post from two days ago that doesn't read like sour grapes at all. On his story, he has reposted two pics/vids others took of the trials, with no commentary.
What are you talking about? Stop whining about things that have nothing to do with you

It cracks me up that people post "its obvious he can run sub 13." OBVIOUS? Its never obvious until we see it. He had a chance in Eugene, he had a chance before the Trials, and he knew his world ranking was not that high coming in.
Can we stop the madness. Everyone knows the system. Its insane, but its the system.
I completely understand Parker being disappointed not to qualify for the Olympics, but the fact he seems to be stoking the flames of the “Parker was robbed” crowd (never congratulating Blanks, continually posting pics of himself finishing 3rd at Trials) is not a good look. He of all people knows he didn’t hit the time or ranking standards and that is not Blanks’ (or even USATF’s) fault he isn’t going - yet he’s posting pity songs for himself on IG. I guess that’s all OK, but hard to believe he won’t look back on this with the benefit of time and regret his reaction.
Where's the sour grapes part come in? What does he say he wouldn't want to have to make the trip or that he'd rather be training for something else? Where does he say why he's glad he doesn't have what he wanted?
Since you don't seem to know what "sour grapes" are, the term comes from the fable "the fox and the grapes". Cliff notes: Fox wants the grapes. Fox cant get the grapes. Fox tells himself it was better not to get them b/c they were probably sour anyway.
Sour grapes is an after the fact justification or rationalization for why it was good you didnt get want you wanted...e.g. "the girl was probably crazy anyway"..."i'd have no free time if i'd gotten that job", etc. So...where's the sour grapes here?
Maybe you mean he's just being a sour puss about this.
Graham missed ten weeks of running and is clearly more talented. It is just reality.
Why are you so sure? Wolfe ran 13:19 indoors as a 19 year old, graham never did anything like that before he was 20. Wolfe has been faster than Blanks at every age to this point. And I'm not saying Blanks isn't talented, I actually think Wolfe is more talented though

They are different runners. One is a bigger strength guy one is a smaller speed guy. Both are pretty versatile and can run multiple events. Graham ran 13:03. I am probably taking Parker in a 1500 and Graham in a 10k. Graham was dominating everyone up til January and then Parker really came on during outdoor. This isn’t a debate about who should be on the team. One was eligible and the other was not. Graham should be back to that form in Paris. The future is bright for USA distance.
Parker and his team failed. He should accept it and move on. He needed the auto qualifier or minimum world ranking and didn’t attain either. End of story. Oly Trials was irrelevant without one of those two credentials.

How did you react when you missed out on your dream based on esoteric committee-formed criteria?
