Sha'Carri looked like she buried her start by taking extra care not to step on a line again. Couldn't recover, because she doesn't have have the effortless reserve that she has in the 100.
Oh well - at least she's still going to Paris for the 100.
Not that it would have mattered, but Sha'Carri was braking before crossing the line. In the slow-mo replay, she was practically sitting down for the last few steps.
Longs situation is new info for people just tuning in. Sure it sounds repetitive to hard-core fans who have heard it in all her heats & semis. But come on, that's a hard thing to deal with and still be this successful
Tara Davis Woodhall has two fouls so far. One more and she is going home.
I dont know a ton about long jump and how easy it is to control speed and fall short of the board. But, since she's one of the top jumpers, I'd think she'd want to get a mark on the second jump no matter what, even if she's barely on or right behind the board. But, again, I assume it's not necessarily that easy, after training endlessly with a certain rhythm and step count, to do that. Or is it?
