No it probably was written by Kerr. One of his favourite things to do is sh*t on American middle-distance running. In his promo video on Instagram he says "i know that if I'm the best in my country, I'll be the best in the world". Which is funny because a) it's false (Jakob isn't British, last time I checked), and b) seems completely unrelated to Grand Slam track.
Is this for real? That must be some kind of script, or does he not think he became the best in the world by winning the world championship? Its not like this circus is going to do that for him. I hate this concept.

honestly don't understand how the grand slam will make track more interesting. someone please enlighten me
It will make it more interesting for stupid people that hate looking at numbers and finishing times, hate to watch athletes who doesn't have English as their mother tongue and generally loves the concept of big fish in small pond.
I think they should go one step further and keep all the races in the US, call it "Track world series", and give the winner of the series the title "world champion" while they are at it. Every winner time at every race should be declared a new world record as that will be great for the PR.

and no field events? no way this is loved universally within the community. tara davis woodhall is fun to watch and mondo is one the sports biggest stars. i've enjoyed watching (what they've shown) of both men's pole vault and women's high jump at US trials. allman doesn't get the respect she's earned, and both men's and women's shot put in the US is crazy good right now (obviously much more so for the men). sounds like this league is going to at least get boring fast
He's just such a wanker. His "style" he thinks he has, his "poor me I work so hard" mentality. The guy is uber talented, and just genetically gifted but he doesn't work any harder than a majority of the pros. Just can't wait until he doesn't win gold and is brought back to earth with his little fan club.
