Could they put her in the 4x400 relay pool? It sure how that selection process works…
why should they? someone else who has been training and racing all year deserve it more
No one deserves it because they have been training and racing all year. The person who deserves it is the one who can run the fastest split.
If Mu wants to be on the 4x400 team, she should find a meet and try to run a really fast 400. Corrigan found a meet to try to run an 8:15 in the steeple, because that's what people who really want to go to the Olympics do. If she puts up a very fast time (unlikely given her injury and lack of 400 training, but possible), then she should be considered for the team. If not, then she shouldn't.
If she wants to be considered for the relay pool, then she should go to Philly to the Penn Relays Summer Series meet on Saturday and put down a 400 meters time. Corrigan wii be there trying to get the steeplechase qualifying standard.
What an absolute joke the literal gold medalist and defending champion doesnt get a spot on the team. Now we get 3 NPCs who don't have a prayer to medal.
Nia Akins just dropped a 1:57 running from the front most of the race. If she replicates this at the Olympics she certainly has a chance at bronze. There's a huge drop off after Hodgkinson and Moraa.
Sorry but Hurta wouldn’t have gotten top 3 regardless
A time trial for anyone is absurd but hurtaFan has a point Sir Stolen in that she was in competition to make the team and coming on strong. That inane move by Mu cost her the chance. Now in all honesty, I do not believe she could have finished top 3 but she lost her chance to try. That is unfortunate. But of course no time trials. A nonsensical concept.

I don’t know - yes there’s a big gap from the 1.55 (Keely) and 1.56+ (Mary) but quite a few hover around the 1.57. Jemma Reekie has run a few 1.57s this year but tactically isn’t that good. Nia is in for a shot for sure. It’s quite open for the bronze I feel.
