Category C which gets 60 points for first. By my calculations he would need 1205 points to have an overall score of 1190, which means he only needs to run 8:24.
There are different placing scores for the steeplechase (change to the Track & Field Events tab..), so he only got 50 points for third today and also would get 50 for first in Uzebekistan
Unless Corrigan sets up a time trial by the end of next week, Jager is on the team.
If I were Ed Eyestone, I'd be on the phone right now trying to find which california high school will let him stage a meet. Rooks could be a pacer and several other guys on the team could do 1-1.5k; Corrigan just has to hang on.
Is there a California high school with steeplechase amenities?

There are only 2 continental tour meets between now and June 30; one in Hungary which only has Hammer throw listed as a B level event and one in Uzbekistan which only has the following events listed as C level events;
"Events to be staged: Men 200m,110mH, Triple Jump, Hammer Throw, Long Jump"
Also he will get 50pts for 3rd in the trials. Not sure what the table of placing scores relates to but 3rd place finishers in other 2024 national championship 3000m steeples got 50pts for 3rd, not 70. Isaac Updike who was 3rd at last years USAs also got 50pts which was also a B level meet.
I think it's just a matter of finding a race and hitting that 8:15 standard. Even if there's a C level steeple and he wins, it'd only give him 50pts, in which he'd still need to run 8:18.23 (1175pts). 1175+50=1225. 1225+ his 2 other USAs performances would just slip him into the quota.
Could very well be that Jager is bumped out of the rankings once other countries’ national championships occur and kids from countries, like Czech, run 8:20 and win. Welcome to Coe’s new world! (Leonard Korir knows all about it)
Update: Just bumped into Ed Eyestone at Hayward Field. He confirmed that something is in the works for Corrigan to make an attempt on the standard next week. Wouldn't say when or where but he expects there will be a few other steeplers in the race that may be able to help pace.
USATF also confirmed that he is allowed to chase. 8:15.00 is the standard. Evan Jager's fate hangs in the balance.
If USATF was a competent organization they would be organizing and adding on a paced 3K steeple on Friday night to have Corrigan go for the standard.
Why? They already gave him an opportunity at the trials. If he'd pushed the race to 815 pace, he may not have finished third. This is part of the game. Athletes need to run the standard before the trials or else chase the time. If he is an 815 athlete he can hit that time in the race Ed Eyestone or whoever is setting up. If he isn't, he will be a nonfactor at the olympics anyhow.

Ed Eyestone appeared live on the podcast tonight. Ed didn't mention what meet he was talking about but did say it was on the calendar and the only thing I see in the US is the Penn Relays summer series meet on Satuday. They can add a steeple to it, get Rooks to rabbit and give it a go. No bonus points though she he needs the standard.
Ed's audio wasn't great but if you are an SC member it will be crystal clear when it comes out as a podcast later tonight.
If he's going for the standard he could do the Canadian National Championships next weekend. Would count as OC and not score any placing points, but the time would be valid. Would help Desgagnes too.
