I think 5-10 more seconds in him is a bit of a reach right? So his ceiling is 3:24?
Math seems hard for you.
It always has been, however, could you explain what was meant by 5-10 more seconds? Assuming we are talking about the 1500 and his 3:34 last night? If I am missing something I’m happy to admit to being wrong.

You are missing the fact that the person he is talking about didn’t run 3:34 last night.

My bad I thought he was referencing Hocker when talking about looking great.
WE just finished up the podcast and weldon told me that Nuguse wanted to lead all 12 laps of all 3 races but Ritz told him he didn't need to lead the first round. Kind of instructed him not to.But he didn't like it and went back to leading today.
Just watched the semis. Hocker looked in control and showed great acceleration in the last 20 or so. Kessler looked really strong but got caught up with some push and shove in the middle laps. Tactically not as good as the other favorites - but when he's out and running looks great. Nuguse looked really good but not great. The smile seemed a bit forced at the end and he did look to have made more effort than Kessler. I wouldn't be surprised if a surprise happens in the final for place 3. Glad that Engels made the final. A good time for US 1500m running.

This one is harder for me to judge. I couldn't surely say Nuguse was tighter than Hobbs who won the heat, but definitely Grant was 1000 times tighter and in trouble than Nuguse!
Grant ran so embarrassingly in a slow af 27:50 10000m race and lied to the media that he was just trying to qualify? Hell yeah we know everybody was trying to qualify too. His legs and body failed him and he knows it very well. Time to keep away from anthropogenic RF such as wifi and mobile phones like Hobbs Kessler who is running relatively far better because he has abstained from any online participation on LRC forums for the past 8 months and look how his body has transformed? He is stronger, with stronger biomechanics utilizing and being able to access and recruit far more muscle fibers in all parts of his body as relative homeostasis is reached when he removes exposure to RF.
Be like Hobbs Kessler, it's not his training that was changed, that was some lame red herring. The real elephant is the anthropogenic RF!

No for me, harder to judge on this one. Nuguse biomechanics looked pretty smooth like usual so I would tend to allow him the credit that he didn't kick with Hobbs Kessler at the end not because he's done and washed up but could be conserving something for the semis and finals. Nuguse retained 2nd position and didn't give it up to the guys behind him who were also kicking with him. Everybody kicked at the same speed/level so it's hard to say who was washed up and who isn't, especially when their biomechanics and facial expression didn't look particularly tight.
Tightness is a prohibitive word in distance running circles. A runner really in shape would have a certain biomechanical movement pattern and facial expression that CANNOT BE FAKED OR PRETENDED kinda like a thumbprint or iris scan, you feeling me bruh??? Neither will it be TIGHT OR TIGHTENED like the way Grant Fisher showed.
It would be poetry in motion, all systems running like a well-oiled machine, period.
Yes I agree, Nuguse doesn't look washed up as some have argued. But for sure Grant is done. Closing a 58.1 looking like he was dragging a car tyre tied to his waist and on supershoes no less??? Seriously Rojo, America's best runner putting on such a terrible running display as compared to Kejelcha and Aregawi? Grant is just as done as that long gone Joshua Cheptegei who has greatly disappointed but I forgive him because it wasn't his fault. It was factors outside his control such as the mandatory mRNA vaccines that all athletes had to take and very few managed to dodge it. It changed Cheptegei's biomechanics and bioenergetic balance/equilibrium, his stride mechanics changed, his armswing cadence and positioning all changed, heck his center of gravity also definitely moved, just sad.
A 5k and 10k WR holder doesn't open a marathon on supershoes with 2:08 you can be so sure of that Rojo! Trust me, there is no '1st time excuse' applicable to 5k and 10k WR holder, they are exempted from any excuse no less while wearing supershoes. All the previous 5k and 10k WR holders opened 2:08 or faster on embarrassingly slow shoes.
Remember Kenenisa Bekele our shared talisman Rojo? He opened with 2:05:10 at Paris marathon in 2014 if I'm not wrong on what type of shoes again? That's sh*t shoes, period.
So no, you don't ever forgive Cheptegei and be nice and kind to him for an 2:08 opener even if he went out in under 61 minutes because most of the 10 guys in front of him all did the same and finished way ahead of him! That's how you make a relatively precise judgement and make no single mistake at all.
Nuguse was relaxed in the prelim. Knows when to hold 'em.
Correct observation. Nuguse isn't washed up relative to other American runners yet. But he may be washed up by Josh Kerr as the latter is just too darn good. You saw how relaxed Josh Kerr runs his biomechanics? So powerful, so muscular, though not as aerodynamic and bird-framed as my darling Hicham El King Guerrouj The GREATEST!!!! But good enough to beat Nuguse and Jakob.
Unless he tries to blast a 3:31 1500m I don't like his chances in the final.
He'll be okay.
Came close to blowing it big time in that heat
I don't think so, he just let Hobbs kessler pass him that's all. He was still 2nd. You will know he struggled by 1) if he came in 6th or 5th struggling across the line with biomechanical form that is breaking down and all over the place 2) his facial expression, teeth gritting, mouth opened like a hollow coconut shell, wrinkled and ridged due to the strain and all....
What? You are wrong dude. Struggled across the line? No he didn't. He was still in great control unlike Grant Fisher who only seems to be in great control but for a fact was in physical mayhem. He is done!!! Nuguse is still rocking!!!

I’d say he just looks awkward. Even if he thinks his better option is to lead every lap of every heat at the trials, he doesn’t look comfortable doing it. He will run as fast as he needs to with this level of competition. He seems better off tucking in and pacing off of Jakob, Josh, etc on the international stage.
Shut up, the dude ran way fast at Pre and beat Hocker. Yes Hocker is excellent, fit, primed to go, might win. However why dis the world championship silver medalist?
Oh yeah, this is letsrun.com where the pin heads lurk.
