how the hell did she recruit Rai and Michael Norman. I congratulate her and think she's a good hire, but I don't appreciate the fluffing people are doing to her resume. Her press release had so much fluff too (currently coaches Rai and Sydney?; coached at USC from 2017-2024 when we know there were mutliple breaks from USC in that time frame?) I also know she has never been an active recruiter, not much travel to recruit or visits, etc.
she's an amazing hurdles coach, but the hard part of building of a successful program is not the coaching but the management part. managing a program requires a lot of work, business mindset, strong staff, and good foresight. Which is why you'd usually see some with at least associate head coach experience being given director roles. ucla's definitely taking another risk with her, but I do think she can rise to the occasion
