Continuing to say something over and over does not make it true. The women are doing just fine and as it was pointed out in earlier threads they had more women qualify for nationals than many womens teams that placed top 10 at XC nationals.
Maggi Congdon just broke the school record AGAIN in the 1500 advancing to finals
She then ran a 52 400 leg on the 4x4 that made it to nationals and broke the school record while beating teams like Stanford & Clemson in the semis
Karrie Baloga continues to improve and is in the finals for the steeple
Gracelyn Larkin, Annika Reiss are in the 5k Saturday (7 women on the team broke 16 minutes this year) (5 women in the top 30 west rankings)
Elise Stearns is hurt and I've heard Maisie Grice broke her ankle which is why she's not competing.
Ali Upshaw made nationals although didn't have her best outing
Ruby Smee, Odessa Zentz and Alexis Kebbe are all entered in the Portland track fest so we'll see how that goes.
The Moore sisters continually improved all year
Freshman took a redshirt year
The sprints crew are also getting so much better and are continually besting school records- while may not be the hardest records to break in the NCAA but the fact is they are improving
meanwhile the OSU women went 3-4-13 in the 10k, Galvydyte nearly broke 2 min in the prelim w/ the 3rd fastest qualifying time, and Roe is looking at possibly another top 3 finish in the 5k. OSU is going to score 10-20 more points than NAU in distance despite NAU having EVERY ADVANTAGE.
the only advantage NAU has over OSU is not having to worry about getting malaria because they don't go on recruiting trips to Kenya

Anyone else think it’s unfortunate that so many talented women who found success then transferred to NC State run their careers into the ground by their senior year??

With Michalak/Martinez in the class of 2024 and Englehardt, Dow, Jazwinski, and wienewski in the class of 2025, they won’t need any transfers anymore. 2024 still a rebuild year.
I wouldn't be wasting the time to type any of this if it weren't for some a$hole here starting this thread to bash NC State with false/misleading arguments. But because of that I am compelled to counter these false arguments and present the truth.
All those responses and you carefully avoiding addressing the elephant in the room. While the OP may have been misleading, you are doing the exact same thing.
Tyynismaa may have run her mile PR but her 1500s were much better at Alabama. Her RACES were much better at Alabama. According to her World Athletics bio, her best performances are: 1) 3000m - 1143 points (Dec 2022 - Alabama) 2) 1500m - 1130 (May 2021 - Alabama) 2) mile - 1130 (Feb 2023 - NC State, transferred only a month earlier) 4) 1500m - 1128 (June 2021 - Alabama) 5) mile - 1125 (Feb 2021 - Alabama) 6) 3000m - 1116 (Feb 2021 - Alabama) 7) 1500m - 1115 (May 2021 - Alabama) 8) 1500m - 1114 (June 2021 - Alabama) 9) 1500m - 1111 (Mar 2023 - NC State, transferred only 2 months earlier) 10) mile - 1109 (Feb 2021 - Alabama)
Where are her performances from April-June 2023 and all of 2024? None of them make her top-10. Seven of her top-10 are from 2021and eight are from her time at Alabama.
Tyynismaa made it to the semifinals of the Olympic Trials at the end of her freshman year at Alabama. She is not even going to come close to qualifying this year. It must be disappointing to make the Trials as a freshman and then be sitting at home watching them on TV as a senior.
The nice thing about T&F is that it is not subjective; it is completely objective. Times do not lie.

This is not exactly true. If Tyynismaa wanted to pursue track times, she could have gone to Oregon or Florida, or stayed at Alabama instead of transferring to NC State. But if her priority is to enjoying running, obviously she had a lot of fun with some miracle comeback and a team title in cross country in 2023. Believe it or not, running can be subjective. Having fun is worth a lot as you have to embrace pain in training to persevere.
As I already posted, you cannot make a valid argument that Tyynismaa "regressed" in cross country at NC State. She only ran one season of cross country at NC State (2023), and during that season she was recovering from an injury that she sustained in the summer of 2023. She only ran 3 races that season. She was a DNF in two of them (ACC Championships and regionals), due to struggling to get back into peak race shape from the injury. The only race she finished was finishing in 25th place at the NCAA Championships -- which is a fine result considering she was just getting back into race shape.
You are ignoring the fact that Tyynismaa ran her personal records in the 5000m while at NC State, and had her highest finish at the NCAA Outdoor Championships while at NC State, finishing 4th in the nation at the 2023 NCAA Outdoor Championships.
Great recruiter. Not a good coach. She is sort of clueless. Her daughter is the same.
man there are a lot of programs that could use a clueless coach if that's what Henes is. Outside of 2020 Stanford has gotten better long distance recruiting classes every single year for like a decade. Where are their titles?
