I got almost everything wrong about this race. I thought it would be super slow, as has been the case in every previous Olympic Trials 5000. I thought Teare and Chelimo would be up there. I thought Cole Hocker would be a factor if he ran. I thought Nur was unimpressive this year and probably would not make the team. I thought Klecker would be a factor. I did not even mention Graham Blanks and Dylan Jacobs. Both ran great. On a positive note I did say in another thread that I thought Parker Wolfe had an outside shot at third place.
Congratulations to Grant Fisher for proving to all of us that he is the dominant 5000/10000 runner in the US today. Congratulations also to all those whose predictions were superior to mine. I am humbly eating crow.
