Absolutely. She wasn't intimidated and stuck with her. Great confidence booster for Warmsley I'm sure.
I presume you mean Sharlene MAWDSLEY.
Mawdsley is running really confidently. She has emphasized it all year. Signing a contract with PUMA in January really took off the pressure and has allowed her to train full time. She was even in the Netherlands for a while during indoor season, running a 400 in a meet normally reserved for Dutch only.
Regarding that relay anchor leg it was obvious what happened. Bol drew alongside Mawdsley and wanted to settle just in front of her before taking a crack at Kendall Ellis later. But Mawdsley wasn't having any of that. As soon as she saw Bol alongside her she accelerated, which forced Bol to accelerate to keep pace. Consequently Bol was using more energy than ideal and always in lane 2.
They moved fairly close to Ellis. It may have looked threatening, but once I had seen Bol use that energy in the spat with Mawdsley I knew she would flatten out down the stretch.
It was merely the latest example of Bol not knowing how to pace outdoor 400s. This has been a known tendency for at least 6-8 years. Bol has emphasized it herself countless times. There is zero chance she will switch to 400 flat.
But if she ever experiments with the 800 -- which seems likely beginning in 2025 -- it will be interesting to see if her pacing instincts in that event are more similar to her indoor 2-lappers or her problems with a 400 oval period.
In fairness to both Bol & Klaver, in a pre meet interview Klaver said they had just come off a heavy training block, and it did look that way, both looked slightly laboured.
Mawdesley Ran tactically sound, forcing Bol into lane 2 the whole way. Klaver appeared to go off too gard like she used to, in an attempt to hold off Adeleke.
But let's be clear. It's 3 months until Paris. You can bet both Bol & Klaver will be back in the 48 legs by then. The interesting question is what will Adeleke's form be like come then. Can she hold this form? Will she get even better? (!) Will she regress? I don't know whether I'd be excited or worried I'm in 10.8/48.5 form so early.
No one knows. He hasn't even opened up this season yet. The rumor is a bad injury, but who knows.
OK thank you. I know he was injured last year. This is why it pisses me off when athletes don't run thru the line (not that I'm saying he doesn't/didn't). Those who don't have no idea that their running life could end on that very race.

She is a stud but the USA has a lot of solid 400m women.
I think definitely at least the 4x100 and 4x400, but I'm not sure she should do the mixed. Plus, not sure how the schedule lines up with the open 200m.
Will the USA post the fastest men's 4x400 time today!!
I don't think the USA does any longer. We have Holmes, Sydney, Mu and Wilson, potentially Diggs, sure. All the others are at the mediocre level. Hayes, Irby-Jackson and the rest are just middle of the pack.

I can see Thomas in the 4x4 for sure.
Holmes has proven to be dependable & fast. She's in too.
Sydney - no question.
Wilson - question. She will need to prove herself at the Trials & circuit. If fit then she's in.
Mu - I can imagine some behind-the-scenes talks between Kersee & the selectors to get Mu in the 4x4. But she is a ??
Diggs is definitely possible
Despite what happens at the Olympic Trials, come the Paris final and I could easily imagine a US quartet of Sydney, Thomas, Holmes & Mu. Unbeatable. But Thomas's and Mu's participation is going to come down to some serious politics. If the US didn't run them, and went for a quartet of Sydney, Holmes, Diggs & Irby-Jackson, they become slightly vulnerable IMO. You'd still expect them to win by a margin, but it's not a walkover.
