Glad this was posted. The video of the last 200 doesn't tell the full story -- he was boxed in and was itching to go from 500-600, and even had to chop his stride a little bit to get to the outside. Would have been even more of a negative split if not for that.
He runs XC and ran 16:23 for a fast course 5K, winners sub-15. That’s all I could see, but there might be more. Decent endurance but obviously major speed on this kid. Only somewhat related but saw a 17-year-old Japanese high schooler ran 1:46.5 this week too. Phenoms abound.
