"It's not xenophobia, but foreigners shouldn't train here because they're bad for Americans." Ok dude, you call it what you want but it is what it is.
That's you intentionally interpreting it the way you want to antagonize. I never said anything close to that, stop being disingenuous. I'm saying I want to see the opportunities on US soil go to more who are interested in representing the country where the group is based. I'm sorry you're so bored and frustrated with your life today that you have to try to fight with birdbeard and me.

There are not enough quality Americans to fill up all the teams that are in the US. The teams are in the US because the NCAA is here and because we have so many great places to train - not because they necessarily want Americans to win. DeKoker's boss is in Switzerland...
Besides, every American woman who has won the NCAA 10,000m since 2012 is currently running professionally. Carmela isn't taking a spot from an American that is just as talented.
She was really cool in some Oregon videos of several years ago but has done next to nothing with all the injuries . I could see Ritz getting all upset telling her the news . She lasted almost 3 years and that is probably because she was well liked .

plus it's a Swiss company... so idk maybe be happy On is investing in a several of the best American athletes instead of yelling about how the team also has non-American athletes on it (which helps the American ones improve during training and increases their visibility by drawing in foreign fans).
They can't just cut everyone who doesn't get results. Many of the under performers at OAC are due to poor coaching, it's a team. If the coach can't demonstrate high levels of self evaluation, they'll struggle to recruit top athletes in the future.
I'm honestly surprised she didn't improve. She's only 27 (according to my calculation) which means she won the 10K at NCAAs at age 24, not terribly senior, but a couple years older than most student-athletes.
She did go to a jock school. compared to someone like Nuguse, who had to balance academics & training at Notre Dame (I think Nuguse also had a difficult major), then has a big boost when his sole focus is running.
Maybe altitude isn't for everyone. It's cold in Boulder & she's from Spain. They've had other runners leave that ON group (the Polish steeple runner, I forgot her name, but she trains in Albuquerque now) and they seem to improve and find their stride elsewhere.
YEAH OAC will be the Bowerman of Colorado in a few yrs. as Ritz grinds these guys with 3mile warmups and 3mile cool downs. no fun time no travel to FLAG #disgruntled

Exactly. There are already a few casualties at OAC licking their injured wounds and it’s certainly not the best time for it!
