In what world does someone running a 5 second positive split in an 800m 4th place finish show that they can run 2 seconds faster next time out?
It was a slow race where he lost and was totally spent at the end.
In a perfect paced race, he goes out in 53.30 and comes home in 56.30~1:49.60. That's only an improvement of .12.
By June 1st he will go sub 1:47 for 800m sub 3:36 for 1500m. He will run the Olympic trials but won't make the team but will go out with his dignity. We will see an impressive improvement in the next 10 weeks
when you come back from injury, and lay a decent aerobic base, then there is an expected progression, if all goes well, or if all goes perfectly.
what you expect is centro to be capable of at least 147 soon if the injury does not crop up, and 146 if all goes nearly perfectly, which is not enough to make the team, except is the trial final fits the centro mold, with say 60 + 60 + 60 to 1200m, and centro has a 51 or 52 in him,
he can get there.
so no surprise, centro is a long shot, eveything has to go right.
if you got say 20 to 1 or better odds, you can lay your lunch money on centro.
