She ran a pb of 4:12 last year. Well after leaving cal. Now she’s low 4s? Ok
Dude, she basically took 2 years off of anything other than fun running (2021, 2022), mostly just cycling for fitness. She returned to serious training in early 2023. You’re being unfair- either from lack of knowledge or a personal problem you have with her.
This is even more sus then. Missing 2 years of heavy aerobic training.
If you are so sure that everyone is doping why don't you put your money where your mouth is.... Otherwise you are very tiresome... give up on the sport... goodbye.
If I’m not mistaken, this guy goes by the registered handle of “astro”, and the really crazy thing, based on his posting history, is that he gives off a strong vibe that he is related to a runner named Katelyn Tuohy.
And that is actually pretty scary, based on a lot of things he has said in the past.
There are plenty of solid athletes whose experience in the NCAA system does not reflect their potential. Bell has discussed this part of her story in depth. She also worked a regular job until quite recently, and had to take a sabbatical from her position to focus on training (get proper rest, etc) in the last year, from what I remember. She did not lose two years of aerobic development either; she obviously cycled liked mad during that time away from running. Look at her Instagram. Listen to her interviews. She clearly has loads of talent that wasn't developed in the past. She doesn't strike me as a doper whatsoever.
Bell's race tonight was her 17th 1500 race in 2024. I get all the stuff about cycling as aerobic x training but as a brit I can totally get the scepticism. Duathlon; however good you are, it is very much longer than 1500m and if you are continuously trying to max at that it surely must have a trade off with Olympic 1500m medal winning specificity. If it didnt then we might theoretically expect a whole raft of world class 1500 types to get into duathlon in non Olympic years.
If dropping 20 seconds in a year at age 30 is not suspicious, what is?
There might be an innocent explanation for this jump. Maybe she really did have massive potential that was hidden until now. Or maybe her coaches really have revolutionized training. Or maybe her dualthon training did wonders. Or...or...or.
The truth is that anyone who runs the 11th fastest time ever is suspicious. Anyone who runs the 11th fastest time at age 30 is even more suspicious. And a 30 year old who runs the 11th fastest time after off of what, a little over a year of "serious" training, is way more suspicious. Dittoo for the 30 year old with little training who runs 20 seconds faster than her best time ever until this year.

I could go on, but I think you see the problem.
What basis do you have for making the claim that her being 30 makes this more suspicious? She has far less wear and tear than any other 30/31 year old athlete by virtue of being out of the sport for years, which puts her in a situation which lacks precedent. She’s effectively a much ‘younger’ athlete, who during her years off the sport didn’t let her GPP diminish.
Eugene Amo-Dadzie - a GB sprinter who started the sport in his mid 20s - improved rapidly to the point of running 9.93 last year at 31, similarly improving like the beginner he was from 26-31.

He goes by "icarus8471" on youtube, also. Just look up any video of Valby or Wiley racing and he is there posting his lies. In some cases he is worse there than he is here. Any guy who spends his life just posting lies online about young females needs to see a therapist for mental health treatment. No mentally healthy person would do something like that.
I agree with you that the age 30 thing is not such a big deal in circs. USA posters seem sceptical on progress after about 24 y.o at mid distance, maybe in part as they dont have U23 cstrfiry
Though imo the "less wear and tear" thing is lacking any science unless it's backed up. On one hand we all bang on about long term building, gradual progression, patience and consistency so can we then just rebrand it wear and tear?. Given Bell's trajectory it would seem not unreasonable to see a 1500 WR in next 2 seasons and perhaps something equivalent at 3000 and/or 1000. Objectively her progression to tonight's 3.52 medal looks to me odder than Hull's tho the narratives behind the stats are quite different. odd things can happen.

Yes, but you’re just touching upon the obvious superficial things about his character. Do you comprehend the deeper implications, if he actually is related to KT, based on all the things he has said about doping in the past, including with regard to her specifically?
It gives off a vibe she is presenting a facade that has crumbled, in my eyes.

It’s some deep, implicating, psychological stuff.
I mean, it’s as if he isn’t afraid to tell you “publicly”, “publicly”, per the Lance Armstrong modus operandi discussed earlier in this thread, by him. Do you get it?
LOLL. You think I am related to anyone? Every time I thin this board cannot get any stupider, the low IQ brigade on here outdoes itself.
And yes I think Wiley was/is suspect as hell, which I said publicly bc I am not a complete idiot and followed the story. (Even read that 28 page investigation report). My hope is someone from AIU noticed and that cooled her jets so that someone else could make the US team, such as Whittaker.
As to Valby, when a commentator on TV notices that "she does not even look tired" as she is breaking the NCAA record again after winning the 10000m, well excuse me for noticing. She played the game and it paid off to a degree.
And this feigned indignation regarding Bell, one of the most laughably suspect medalists I have ever heard of. (And kudos to her, she knows the audience). Oh poor babies. Sorry I did not buy into the miracle 30 year old medalist. You guys are dog sh*t as fans.

I mean, do I need to spell it out here with a crayon. For crying out loud guys, she went full throttle, in your face, ‘I don’t give a #%##’, when she signed up with the Nick Bare dude, in order to shill his chemistry, along with soda pop and granola to high school kids.
And now the deflection. Re a product on the market for over a decade with 40 million in sales. Anyway, so you are the AW fan I always anger? LOL. Too. bad. Cope and seethe dullard.

Absolutely. You can deny all you want, but you have had pretty intimate knowledge, based on things you have said in the past. I would not be at all surprised if you get into her ear, on occasion, like over a dinner table.
