Looks like he is essentially running a ~2:20 marathon at the end of every (120 mile) week as his long run.
Which seems wild to me, but also makes me think a little of Kawauchi—hope Mantz still has some pop / speed in his step left after that heavy mileage at fast paces because when I think of Kawauchi I don't think of speed.
um no. 2:20 marathon is 5:20 pace. He's running these at like 5:40 pace
The trial have just become a 2 man race. No names mentioned but the other runner has run 30 more miles than Mantz this month and more marathon specific workouts.
exactly. if the race was a half marathon, mantz would win, but it's not, it's a full marathon
Glad you posted this. A runner's "ideal distance" may be anywhere on the spectrum. Mantz is a killer. Not sure if he is more of a 10mile/13.1 guy or if he's best up closer to the 26.2 distance.
He made all his runs on strava public. look through them- there's no doubt, he is 100% winning the trials, (i think hes even got the american record but that's just me)
maybe if he ran 7 days a week, but for some erason he does not
lds "mormons" believe sundays are a day of rest. this includes sports, working, going shopping as to not make others work. it is a day to spend attending church services and the spent with family. although it's not a "sin" to run on sunday, it's not encouraged.

Who is this?
Were you using Mantz's old strava numbers or his new numbers where he added on mileage he previously didn't share? He had a bunch of weeks from 120-127 miles recently. Looks like he has been cranking the miles and a lot of folks thought we wasn't doing much!
