Well, I'm currently making yet another comeback from the same hamstring injury that has plagued me for over 2 years now. Every time I think I might have it kicked, I do something stupid and tweak it. It's pretty annoying, and if I didn't enjoy running so much I would seriously consider hanging up the shoes and taking up weightlifting/calisthenics as my main form of exercise or something like that.
So goal #1 is hit the PT hard, then build up to 40 mpw by...early March maybe? If I can do that I will probably jump into some of my area's USATF road circuit races and try to race just for the fun of it. I'm 34 with a toddler and aforementioned hammy issue, so at this point chasing times only leads to disappointment. That said, I do wanna hit some hill strides at least twice a week during this buildup. It somewhat depresses me that my old mile pace (4:30) is literally a sprint now. So I would like to try to build up a little speed, which I realize does not play well with hammy issues. Hence the hills.
TL;DR get healthy, do some modest running, do some hill strides, mostly just try to enjoy being outside and moving.
