The 5000 (W Final on Day 5) & marthon (Day 11) double seems like Hassan's only sensible option. Does anyone know why the W 10000 wasn't scheduled earlier in the meet? Perhaps no one expected a woman to enter both the 10000 and marathon.
Is it silly to imagine Hassan throwing in an early Feb "tune-up" in Belgrade before Tokyo?
Of course I was kidding, but sensible is not Hassan’s approach. She won’t do it, but what’s the likelihood she could make the 800 final and medal in the marathon in Paris? No issue with timing, just training to be competitive in the 800.
I disagreed with the 800 earlier and still think it is unlikely. But as you implied, this is Hassan. Who knows what crazy stuff she might do? That's why I love her attitude. But wouldn't she have to qualify to run it? I am not sure about the Netherlands qualifying process but I think they have trials.

Tough to wrap my head around the 800/marathon double. At minimum, I think Hassan would have to drop a sub-1:59 this spring--a time she hasn't posted since 2017--to convince anyone she could make the 800 final.
