This year there was Anna Peters (Utah) who finished 33rd plus four from Kenya.
Yes, it's possible a foreigner could have made 4 or 5 aa years recently, but my quick check didn't find them. Chelangat?
Goes to show how hard it is for a USA frosh to make aa. Looked like a lot of chances with Noe, Baloga, Stephens, Kennedy (and Bunnage), but none of them made it. Chmiel, Tuohy and Sage Hurta CU most recent 4time all-americans.
Peters is a USA frosh. She was probably not on anyone's list of potential AAs.
Boulder has Portland-like problems in most categories, a concentrated Los Angeles-like problem with traffic congestion and San Francisco problems with the homeless (up and down the front range).
I taught at CU for 3 semesters and, personally, I would not like going to this school as a distance runner or regulat student. Too many distractions, very expensive and the rebellious drug types arent just into marijuana but coke and mushrooms on the regular. You can see all the lights on at 4am at the drug user homes in The Hill area.
The tradition at CU is quality but I believe Boulder pre-2012 was better and pre-1990 even better. I think Boulder used to be awesome but went from a quaint college town and excellent "home on the range" to a city bursting at the seams. I bet back in the 1970s you could step into Boulder Creek without fearing that youll step onto a used hypordermic drug needle or dead body.

This is a lie ^
Perhaps the reason that you only taught there for three semesters is because you're obtuse. What is a "hypordermic" drug needle, bright boy?

Boulder is a ritzy, safe, upper crust city, one of the nicest in CO. It is very expensive, impossible to buy a home under a million in the city. You can always go to Denver for drugs and crazy times
