I would just drop it. I don't think it's that important. People who don't really run don't take times anywhere near as seriously as people like us. It may well be that he just got something mixed up, didn't understand it, extrapolated one mile out to 10 miles, was just making a vague statement thinking it wasn't important at all. Or maybe he actually is naturally gifted and did do a fast 10 miler, who knows? Maybe the course wasn't measured properly, maybe the treadmill wasn't calibrated properly. I just think it's not that important and you run the risk of really p!ssing him off to make a point which isn't really that important anyway, honestly I'd just drop it.
