Woody might not be happy about Fisher joining, I'm not kidding.
The thought crossed my mind, but I don't think it'll be an issue. Grijalva has the same pedigree as Fisher, and he was there when Woody joined.
Assuming Fisher's going there, The Mike Smith has to be the ultimate running example of "Build it and they will come". He's built the best group in the country for distance runners, first at the collegiate level, and now at the pro level. He's not even able to officially have a group at the pro level. On Coffee Club a couple months ago, one of the guys was saying Smith told them to stop calling it a group, because it wasn't a group, it was just a "collection of athletes". But he has the women's 1500m national champ, men's 5k and 10k national champs, and a guy who's gotten 4th at Worlds 2 years in a row.
1. I thought kinckaid was nike?
2. Not to beat a dead horse, but does he truly have the women's 1500 winner?
Here ya go, you guys are still too dumb and lazy to read.
Bowerman statement:
Over the last four years, Grant Fisher has reminded us time and time again that the people we surround ourself with make us into the athletes we are – on and off the track. As a community, we’re honored to know a friend and teammate as inspiring, humble and genuine as Grant. A friend and teammate who has made all of us better people and athletes – on and off the track. We wish @grantfisher_ the best in his personal and athletic pursuits as he steps into the next chapter of his historical career. We’ll miss your infectious smile, Grant! More details on Grant’s post.
Grants post:
Bowerman Track Club has been a huge and defining part of my life for the past four years. My time there has been transformative for me as an athlete and as a person, but I no longer see my best future being with the club moving forward.
By far what I’ll miss most are the wonderful people that I got to be around every day. While I will be in a different training environment moving forward, I know the bonds I’ve made will remain for the rest of my life.
Thank you to everyone who continues to support me throughout my career. This is a big change but one that I am excited about and ready for.

let's just say he has the FEMALE 1500 winner and move on from it. I don't have a problem with your take, but this isn't the thread for it.
I can't believe someone so smart is doing something so destructive to his future performance and earnings. Good thing Evan did not leave after he got injured the first time.
I'm not sure that it's destructive. It seemed pretty clear that a lot of people in Bowerman didn't like the move to Eugene. Jerry is definitely not all in on the pro aspect of his coaching and the athletes that can leave, are. As an outsider, I figured that they would make it work, but Bowerman didn't bring any new help for the staff. The locals kept saying "Eugene is great for pro runners". Clearly something has changed for a lot of former Bowerman athletes to leave so abruptly. That group used to be huge even three years ago.
Serious question: Did Jerry getting the Oregon job destroy BTC?
Oregon isn't a good place for pros to train, largely because it's not at high altitude. I think BTC does 6 months of the year or something at high altitude, and there's no way for Jerry to be able to train both groups like that. I think Cranny also expressed frustration that they got blindsided and all had to move 2 hours away to a college town to train, especially since some of them had bought houses/begun settling down before it happened.
I think there was a very good idea that Nike could funnel kids through Oregon, have Jerry develop them, give them NIL deals, and then have a smooth transition into being a pro. That idea could still work, and could have long term payoffs, but it may have come at the cost of a group that was already working really well. Also, the biggest issue is that there is no reason for any of those kids to go to Jerry when The Mike Smith already has a better setup going in the best spot to train in the country, he's had a ton of success with collegiates and pros already, and as a coach, he is more adaptive to the athletes.
Would be very funny if he went back to Michigan and joined Very Nice and switched to Adidas. That said, probably (and should) join Mike Smith and keep a Nike contract.
You don't need to be with Adidas to be on Very Nice. One of their top guys runs for On
