This isn't even a question. Of course he's got to focus on the 400 and long jump.
With 400m Clyde Hart type training he can go 44 flat. Good enough to medal. Maybe good for gold if Michael norman isn't around.
Long jump is wide open.
He won't be top 3 in 100 or 200. At least not next year.
He has shown the ability to run sub 19.9, as he's run 19.92 into a headwind.
What makes anyone think he has 44.00 ability? Even the most optimistic extrapolation from his best 4x400 leg puts him at 44.6 or 44.7.
He's a short sprinter and long jumper. He can win medals in long sprints by doing the mixed 4x400 (that is, by finishing top 8 at USATF trials). So it's just a question of what he prefers more: winning guaranteed medals as a mediocre (for a pro) 400 runner, or taking a chance at the events which more strongly suit his natural gifts.
As for long jump: I think he's the only sub-10 long jumper in the world right now if he gets back to it, right? Such a massive advantage over everyone else. Grind down those fast twitch fibers by running repeat 200s OR remain a 9.98 guy and potentially hit 8.6+ meters? I know what I'd do.
