If an athlete is caught with a banned substance in their system (that they may have been able to get a TUE for, but did not), explain how it is relevant if they got it by prescription or not?
You me comment about how USADA seems (according to you) is also pure conjecture.
Typing FACT in all caps (lol) may not quite be the winning argument you apparently believe it to be. Here are two questions of FACT that may help you understand this situation better: 1) Did Allie test positive with a banned substance in her system and get banned for a period of time for it? 2) Did Allie accept this punishment because she knew it was true that she had taken the substance? If your answer is yes to both of these, then there you go!
Allie has a fantastic running resume. Her strong points were x-c and steeple, so I don't know why you would think she is focused on going back to the track (unless it is steeple). She has more potential as a trail runner than as a marathoner, and not every distance runner aspires to be a marathoner.
Allie seems to enjoy running and trail running is fun. Racing on the track is only fun in a masochistic way. (In a perverted way, I used to look forward to track work :), which is probably something most posters here can understand).
Allie did get a doping suspension, but it doesn't mean she was cheating or even trying to cheat. As noted multiple times above, she took some acne medication that is listed as a masking agent. There was no indication she took or was trying to mask anything. I would call that a mistake, not cheating.
That is the definition of cheating. She broke the rules. It is like telling tue cop you weren't speeding because.ypu didn't look at your speedometer. Or it is like smoking pot in a state where it is illegal because you didn't know.
Still can't figure out who this is. Who is starting threads about someone quite a bit less well-known than Seth Demoor? The usual answer is:
When threads show up about someone no one has ever heard of.....then you've all heard of them solely due to these threads.....the subject was starting the threads themselves. That's the only reason anyone knows who JS is, and all of you do.
Uhh, I think the question is about her clear trail focus right now. A focused track athlete doesn't run trail year round. Now, I for one think this is brilliant for her. Get tough as nails on the trail and then hit the track after the body has had a good 6-12 mo to heal on the trails. We always think injuries heal when they dont hurt anymore after 8 weeks, but they likely continue to heal and remodel for a year.
And as far as track vs trail? Give me a break, trail running is smaller than corn hole in this country. Track and road racing is small but a 1000x more popular and has the Olympics, Worlds etc....and is on TV every weekend.
And my point is, what makes you think she’s track focused? Because you like track more it means Allie should be track focused?
If you knew anything about the running world, you’d know Olympics, and being on Peacock every weekend does not equate to the athletes making more money. Allie has already figured out how to make a living off running and it’s not from running mid-pack times at the diamond league.
Given the vague economy of running I cant say you are wrong abut dollars and cents. But I would say if you are elite, you dont give up the NBA for some summer league. For her sport, track and filed is the big time. Trail running is 100% invisible. Elite athletes are driven toward superbowls, world series, olympics, DL...
You think no one has ever heard of Allie Ostrander? You must be either a young teenager or someone who pays very little attention to running.
I only know who she is because of this site, and I’m a woman. For some reason a bunch of gross pervy guys here spend hours of their life on Instagram and YouTube every day, instead of having families or working or out running.
In fairness, you just bragged about being out of the running news loop? Ya got your family, running and working out? So you are not excatly a good example of everyone not knowing who she is.

You’re welcome!
Read trackfangirl at the bottom of p.2. She explains and includes links that disprove your simplistic arguments. YES, she did as you say in both questions but again you conveniently omit the FACT that the "period of time" that she was banned for was BRIEF. Why did USADA do that unless they believed the prescription was, indeed, given for a legitimate reason? I inferred that was their reason. If they believed, as you do, that she deliberately didn't get a TUE, do you think they would have punished her so lightly?

Your NBA analogy is fair. I think you’re discrediting the growth of trail running though. To me, it looks like it’s trending much like gravel racing has exploded in the cycling world. I think Allie realizes this also, and that’s why she signed with NNormal and is getting into the sub-ultra series’.
she didn't dope you idiot! She to spironolactone, which is a medication for high blood pressure, acne, lots of legitimate uses ; . It should not be on any list as it doesn't aid in performance it actually has the opposite effect! They say it is on a banned list because it is a diuretic and can mask banned drugs, but it is a weak diuretic at best so I shouldn't even be on the list! Ollie did not dope!
I am sorry if Allie Ostrander is your big sister. The stages of grief can be tough and you unfortunately are grappling with denial with maybe a little bit of anger towards those who are telling you the simple truth that big sis Allie is a drug cheat. She doesn't contest it, and neither should you.
I don't mean to be disparaging, but your point is ridiculously stupid. Just because a banned substance may have legitimate uses, that doesn't mean it shouldn't be a banned substance. I suppose, in your mind, there are no valid uses for epo? For testosterone? For nandro?
Hey drug cheats, there are new rules, it is only considered cheating now if your banned substance has no other legitimate purposes!!! Trackfangirl is going to get the USADA to update the banned substance list so that it doesn't have any substances on it! C'mon, even you, as irrational as you may be, trackfangirl, are not this lame.
Try to look at this objectively. Allie is dirty, period. She very likely robbed others of victories and AA spots who ran clean and deserved these achievements while she competed in the NCAA.

You’re fixated on definition and refuse to acknowledge context, be careful who you call stupid.

"Running news" lol please it's a literal who youtuber, get real for a second. We're not talking about Kipchoge here.

I am beginning to suspect that the Allie supporters are trolling. There is no way that all of the greatest morons of LR can be on this same thread, but here we are.
Here are the irrefutable arguments that have been put forth to exonerate Ostrander:
1) The banned substance has other legit purposes, so it shouldn't even be on the banned list. Therefore, she not dirty!
2) She has a fantastic running resume (lol). Therefore, she not dirty!
3) She isn't even looking to go back to the track and trail running is just for fun. In our expert opinion (and we know her thoughts and feelings), she has no incentive to cheat. Therefore, she not dirty!
4) Her initial suspension was light, so according to us, the people at USADA must have thought that it wasn't actually doping afterall. Therefore, she not dirty!
5) She didn't get popped for whatever she may have been masking. Therefore, she not dirty!
6) Other possible dopers (like Assefe!!!) aren't getting busted. Therefore, she not dirty!
7) Everyone knows Allie! She's super cute and like-able. She even gives us a real look at the elite running life on Youtube! She's genuine. Therefore, she not dirty!
8) She likely could've gotten a TUE for this, if she were willing to go through that process and accept the additional scrutiny involved. Therefore, she not dirty!
Are there any more contextual considerations I am missing? Seriously, please bring an actual argument that someone older than 8 years old would bring. You homers are just embarrassing yourselves and Allie even further.
I like Allie and I wish her well in whatever she choses to do next. Like anyone else, she is not beyond forgiveness. Forgiveness does not (and should not) require the turning off of one's brain when someone cheats, and there should be full ownership of the wrong done as well as restitution. I can envision a useful purpose in the sport for her if she, as a reformed doper, were to use her platform to warn or encourage others to not cheat. Otherwise, she is a negative influence for everyone and the sport as long as she choses to remain visible in any way.

You don’t wish Allie well, stopping trying to backtrack. Your chosen anonymous username says it all. No Allie supporter can refute she took a banned substance and served a suspension. You are trying to place her in the same category as Shelby or Salazar. Playing with fire to gain an advantage. Allie took some acne medication and didn’t think to get it approved because she isn’t out there trying to compete in the diamond league or anything to that level. Her light ban proves USADA felt the same way. Your black and white view of cheating is my point about context. Cheaters are looking for an advantage, nothing about the situation screams that Allie was looking for an advantage, she made a careless mistake. Has Allie served a doping ban? Yes. Is she a cheat? No.

Your first two sentences sum up your entire approach to this situation. You view this through a prism that is 100% emotional and assert pure unknown conjecture as though it were truth. This infantile line of thinking of yours is laughable, but also scary in that you're presumably an adult.
Like Allie, I wish you well also. Unlike you, however, I don't equate the enabling of moral or intellectual failure to "wishing someone well". Wishing someone well includes guidance towards growth even when it may not always be pleasant or fun. Your unthinking path leads to even greater decay and failure for the individual you "support", the communities they are in, and eventually for society at large.
Allie O is an admitted doper, and she, you, and everyone else would be better off when a little bit of responsibility is taken for it. Again, I do wish her (and you) well.
