This record makes Kratochvilova's and Koch's records look feeble. They couldn't get near the men's world records of any era. But Assefa is now faster than Abebe Bikila.
And Laura Muir is now faster than Roger Bannister? Same explanation?

I've missed this 3:58 Mile from Laura. Was Faith also surprised?
Because she is yet another low rent, squalid doper from a basketcase country and a shameful culture of cheating. Not hard to figure out. Ruined the sport. Not one person cares about marathons anymore because the results are so compromised.
Implication is that were she a "high-rent", "high-class" doper from an "advanced" country it would be ok. The extraneous words in your "low-rent", "squalid" post give your game away.

Not really, these women's records are super tough.
Distance records, "true distance" records, =>1500 records are easier to break, with previous marathon standard being one of them especially.
And no one cares about Shambel Abebe Bikila records, who was born long before II World War. Such comparisons are 100% funny.
Absolutely incredible and great as it is, this record may not last long. Sifan Hassan running Chicago and Gidey running a marathon later this fall. I thought Faith Kipyegon 5k race would last a while then it gets destroyed by Gudaf Tsegay. Another sub 2:12 women's marathon may happen this fall!
Her overall Marathon Pace is faster than Keira D'Amato's Half Marathon AR.
That seems impressive but ...
* From my late twenties to 50, I ran 5K & 10K road races. If I raced 3 or 4 of each in a calendar year, my fastest 10K pace per 1K or per 1mi. was faster than my slowest 5K pace per 1K or per mile.
* For runners willing to put in mileage, 3000m to 1/2 Marathon pace is very similar.
* What does K D'Amato have to do with elite Marathon racing at the highest level?

No, she isn't. She is nowhere near his times. He ran a 3:58x mile. You obviously know nothing about the history of the sport.

I don’t usually comment on the doping stuff but to run 2:11 let’s say, you’d need to be 4:03/13:48/28:45. No way she can do any of those - no woman can.
Already corrected (see above, Sisson vs Zatopek). Anyway, in the LR article, Gault says: "Unless Assefa is using some new superdrug, it’s hard to explain a run like this with PEDs alone. We’re not aware of any drug that can make you more than two minutes faster than anyone else in history."

By process of elimination of the other contributory factors:-
-What has she shown that she has talent that far exceeds any other woman in history who has run the marathon (beyond a time that defies credibility)? A 1:59 for the 800m?
-What training does she do that no other athlete has done previously? 100-150mpw?
- If it's the shoes then how is it that other athletes using them weren't anywhere near their best times and the top men were not running in those shoes?
-What experience does Gault have of doping in marathon running to know exactly what the extent of performance enhancement will be as the result of a drug/s that he won't know about because it is clandestine?
Abebe Bikalia was running when they weren't even drinking water during the race. They didn't know squat about training compared to what they know now.
Also the 400 and 800 are the specific events that are the most dominated by doped athletes and intersex athletes, meaning that men have the biggest advantages in those races. Still, there are outliers in the sprints, where Shericka Jackson has repeatedly broken Paul Layton's 200m WR from 1962. Marathons have always been much closer to parity. Women have been running 1950s men's WR times since the 90s, so it's no surprise that after two decades, they've beaten 1960s men's times. Yes, shoes, training, and possibly doping have improved, but you're imagining a world in which everything is static except for EPO (which has been around for quite a while and was much more difficult to detect 30 years ago).
