The Beermile website posted more details about his beer mile.
Seems like he should've been able to go way faster, but also the article pointed out that only 1 person ever has broken 5-minutes in their debut beer mile and that's world record holder Corey Bellemore.
If memory serves me right, I believe Jakob said on a podcast or something that nutrition for him doesn’t really matter and what does matter is eating enough rather than eating too little
That`s such an interesting and refreshing approach. Athletes (elite and hobby) tend to obsess so much about diet these days, following all kinds of fads. Would love to know what he eats in a day.
Put some respect on the beer mile! 5:22 is solid, especially for attempt #1. Are there splits anywhere in this thread? Just shows how good some of the guys are at chugging at the World Classic. Sub-5 is still an elite time. Would be curious to see what Jakob or other pros could do with some training. Bellemore is a 3:39 1500 guy. His beer mile WR is legit.
The real question is, WHY IS HE GETTING MARRIED?!?! Dude has soooo many options at the age of 23!
I know, right? Seems to be a thing in his family. He does not seem crazy religious or conservative, maybe it is just his lifestyle. I guess you need some grounding and stability, and he obviously is not out and about meeting different women all the time. Sticking to what he`s got.
I personally think that these days, those first love relationships starting at 16 will not last, as sooner or later someone will feel like they missed out- But then again, if they are happy now and want to marry, why not! Wish them all the best.
Jakob himself isn't religious or religious-like, but his father Gjert is. The younger generation of people are always more morally destitute than the older ones. That's why the former needs supershoes, wavelights and doped track surfaces to match the achievements of the latter because they simply lack quality substance in them. That's the reality of the world.

khamis is a known troll, don't waste your time. He's not even funny, like jamin for example. He'll just waste your time, might as well argue with an AI.
I've had enough of funny all my life, now I just wanna be s-e-r-i-o-u-s ya know? You only live once to waste it all on jokes and stuff. I'm sure Gjert Ingebrigsten and Abdelkader Kada will agree with me...

Errmm...are you ok? This took a weird turn.
I'm just giving my honest opinion that the beer mile is ill suited to athletes who intend to break the 2 most impossible WRs on the planet earth which is 1500m and mile. You can add the men's and women's 800m WRs as well. They can do it when they retire but not with Paris 2024 less than 10 months away and the WRs 'so close'.
