These performances from Nuguse and Ingebrigtsen are so obviously juiced. Until they both ran 3.43-high no one had run faster - doped or clean - than 3.46x since El G set the wr in 1999.
LRC Note: The OP had misspelled college at collage in the title. We changed it.

A 12 second collage is a work of art I’d like to see.
This is why I think Webb was clean
Would have improved more over montage

Looking at just a mile time and saying that he has “improved” 11 seconds is so intellectually dishonest and bereft of nuance that I can’t actually believe you are genuine.
Peak college Nuguse in a Bowerman Mile absolutely breaks 3:50.
What will some people say when Grant Fisher runs a mile as a pro? His mile time is from High School.
If he trained for a mile he would run under 3:50. 10 seconds… 12 seconds… whatever the comparison the number alone would be big. Numbers, alone, can be misleading.

Why do you losers also fall for obvious bait such as this post?
I believe the Internet adage of "don't feed the troll" is the way to go, but it's hard to resist. Watched Yared on Peacock prior to the Worlds and wondered if he might easily win. He looks so effortless. It's a rare stride. I was disappointed he did not let loose. Then saw him live at Pre. His stride is amazing. Rare. Looks like he is almost just jogging but then is keeping up with some of the best runners in the world. So while I might suspect others, in a way I was both shocked by and unsurprised by his record. It was coming. Been watching running for decades and very few can run like that. Maybe Bekele but was live for his 10k at Pre years ago, fastest ever on US soil. He is smooth, but you could see the effort. Yared is not done. Rare talent.
Jonathan G., Rojo, Wejo need to be asking certain questions of all top runners including Nuguse. For starters, ask him point blank "are you on thyroid meds at the moment?"..."do you have any TUEs?" and let's watch the reaction (similar to the when Jenny Simpson was asked about Dr. Brown and got all fidgety).
Those questions won't reveal smoking guns, but the way they react does tell us something.
It’s sus. Completely agree. You guys act like literally any runner ever out of college DIDNT have a full course load all the time. Probably 1% of top dogs in college actually make it as professional athletes, and their significant improvements, if there are any, don’t come as a result of less homework. Look at Cole hocker. Beat nuguse in college through and through, now getting dusted. Hasn’t really improved much. Does Cole hocker still have homework and exams to do? Is that why he hasn’t improved 11 seconds? Come on. School has nothing to do with it.
2017 (Senior year of HS) - 4:07
2018 - 4:00 (converted)
2019 - 3:56 (converted)
2020 - 3:55 (run in February before Covid hit)
2021 - 3:51 (converted)
2022 - 3:50.0 (converted)
2023 - 3:43
But his embroidery has improved greatly in recent times

He’s at altitude now and has time to actually recover and fuel properly. In a recent podcast he talked about how he was big into studying in college and it sounded like he didn’t really have time to recover. He’s also on a different training plan now. Sounds similar to Grant Fisher in that respect.
Yared isn’t at the top of my list for suspected American dopers. And I’m not someone who believes everyone is clean. I do not believe for a second that Bernard Lagat was clean, or Abdi. And my hunch is that Shelby was taking something gray zone that she can’t admit to.
Yeah Bernard Lagat isnt clean but the guy who just ran a better mile than Lagat ever did with less training and way more of a jump in times is definitely clean lmao. You dont do 3:43 a year after never having done sub 3:50 before. Something like this has never been done in history, not even close
But guise he's really skinny and built for the mile just like kiprop... oh wait fuk
1. Carlson coached him like a 5k/10k runner though he's a 1500/3000 runner
2. He was undertrained in HS and still ran a 4:06
3. Somehow I think his situation was different than Hocker and Teare: actual academics, not great sleep, and not Nike facilities for recovery. Fisher would probably be the most similar as he went to a school with actual academics, majored in a difficult major, and still ran well but improved greatly after
There's less high level mile competition. Using the 1.0802 formula, Nuguse's mile converts to a 3:27.34 1500 which is exactly 1 second off Lagat's 1500 PR

Bollocks. No one has run close to 3.43x in nearly quarter of a century. The closest has been several seconds slower.
Kiprop (though he tested positive for EPO) had run 3:26.69 but only 3:48.50. There are fewer fast miles - almost every DL is a 1500 instead of mile.

it's not run often. for sure there have been several guys capable of going sub 3:45 over the past 20 years.

hocker has been injured the last 2 years. he may have hit his ceiling. but he also may have nuguse like leap in him with good health

That's a joke, right? Drug cheat Houlihan was caught red-handed with hard core steroids, nothing gray there. Fisher is on the same team that still supports their doper, and Nuguse is with NOP-Ritz. Those are well-known facts, no need for hunches.
Lagat had a dodged EPO test, yes, but what is your issue with Abdi?
Webb was a very real possibility to break 3:45. The talent was there.. the mental not so much
