As to empty seats at Hayward, LRC should have qualifying questions before being able to post complaints. Question #1: Have you attended a meet at the new Hayward. Question #2: Did you attend the meet you're complaining about?
Seeing empty seats is deceiving. Don't go by what you see on TV. Due to how Hayward was built with the raised breezeway platform, many people like to go see and take photos of athletes warming up, cooling down and get physio on the side field. Two shows in one. Also, it was warm today (again!) so folks watch from the breezeway. Myself and many others did just that today as well as during Worlds, NCAA's and USA's. Next time you watch on TV, take into account where the sun is hitting and pay attention to all the fans watching from the shaded breezeway.
Today was great, btw. Great competition in all events and, of course, the Bowerman Mile was awesome. You'd think a 3:48 pb would win the race but it only got Cole Hocker 6th! Can't wait for tomorrow. Don't look for me at my assigned seat, though.
